I have replaced coil packs ,plugs,and tps car still don't have much take off power and burns alot of fuel and smells like raw fuel when idling

My first Grand Am was a 1986 with the 3.0 L V6. It was a great car to drive but not great for long trips with kids. Drove it to over 100,000 miles with few problems. Overheating was a problem if you were in stop and go traffic or idling for a long period of time. This was a problem only after about 90,000 miles. My present Grand Am is a 1988 and has the 2.3 L DOHC Quad 4 engine. On my first trip in this car I got 28 mpg. Pretty powerful for a 4 cyllinder and runs great at speeds of 65 to 75 mph. In 2013 all the Grand Ams of this style will be 25 years of age or older. Finding good examples of Grand Ams of this period will be hard to find.Jul 25, 2012

It was an all black SE 10th anniversary edition, fully loaded and powered by the ubiquitous 2.3L Quad 4. All I have to say is this motor has been known for 1 or 2 things, blown head gaskets and the fact that no mechanic likes to work on the Quad 4. So my suggestion is simply, stay away from all quad 4 models. I still miss my black magic though.Sep 14, 2010

Actaully never drove this car but road in it since I was I was little and ya it had alot of problem later on when i was older and my family decided it wasnt worth the money to keep repairing it. was a two door and black with rims like a fiero has typically but was nothing special looking. got my mom from work and home for over 16 years about so It was well used and well worth the money at the time but now they prolly will be to much to repair. interior was a typical family car interior with the cloth seats front and back and ya thats all I have to say.Apr 19, 2008

changed fuel pump and it is getting spark at the plug so why wont it start?
I have a 88 grand am le 2.0 I just changed the fuel pump and it does make sound again but it will not start. If it is getting spark and fuel why will it not start? is there not enough fuel pressure?

grand am Gt 1988 does not work
I have been driving my car with no problems but then Ive started having problems to start my car. One day it just would not start so I changed the starter and they tested that the starter was really bad after putting the rebuild starter the car still didnt work so since my battery was really old I replace it with new one but it still does not work at all. When I try to start all the lights come on just as usual but there is no sound at all while I try to start it. I also tried to jump start but does not work. What can be the problem?
