The 1981 Toyota Corolla came in many body styles with several trim levels. The two- and four-door sedan came as a standard, DX or E5. The hardtop coupe came as a standard or SR5, and the sports coupe came as a SR5. The wagon came as a standard or DX. The liftback came as a standard and SR5. The 1981 Toyota Corolla had a 75-horsepower, 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine.

Originally came with a 1.3 litre engine, 4 speed manual 165/80/13 tyres. After all was said I done, I modified it with a DOHC 1.6 L Engine 5 speed manual with Modified Camshafts, Mikuni 40s Side Draft Carburetors, Hi-Flow Headers and Exhaust System, Suspension Modifications and 215/50/13 tyres. Very cool performance for its time. My first "sleeper". :)
March 5, 2008performance = must change to 4AGE , than got nice acceleration , use AE86 front nunckle with disc brake , nice brake , suspension gonna change new one , maybe tein is a good choose .. build quality = good apperance = all hav to DIY FR = nice driving machine
August 28, 2009the engine was not big, but it has enough power for my taste of driving. good fuel economy, and low cost maintenance. second hand have a cheap asking price. very fun to drive, just like I was using my own hands and feet.

November 4, 2011Thanks to the 170hp supercharged 1587cc 4A-GZE engine, my KE55 Corolla REALLY goes. Once the brakes and handling are sorted out, the engine will be modified to give more power.

February 22, 2008The best I ever had, I went to Florida with it with my family, it never turned off on me. I really miss that car, too bad it got stolen from me. Oh, and the car is super fun to drive.
August 22, 2009If you want to look retro with a low budget, I recommend this car because the mainanence is quite easy and almost every mechanic you meet can handle the simple Toyota 3K engine.

March 7, 20081981 Corolla Sedan. 1300 i think. For what it is it goes pretty well. Good brakes, not the greatest pickup. Not bad looking either.
