About 1981 Toyota Corolla
The 1981 Toyota Corolla was virtually unchanged from the previous year.
The 1981 Toyota Corolla came in many body styles with several trim levels. The two- and four-door sedan came as a standard, DX or E5. The hardtop coupe came as a standard or SR5, and the sports coupe came as a SR5. The wagon came as a standard or DX. The liftback came as a standard and SR5. The 1981 Toyota Corolla had a 75-horsepower, 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine.
1981 Toyota Corollas are known for being reliable and well-built. Drivers seem to prefer their used Corollas to the ones being manufactured today. Because parts are so cheap and they are so easy to fix, 1981 Corollas are popular with tinkerists who enjoy performing maintenence and small repairs. Rust seems to be an issue in these cars, and the seats tends to wear out.

Reviewed a 1981 Toyota DX Wagon on Mar 5, 2008
Originally came with a 1.3 litre engine, 4 speed manual 165/80/13 tyres. After all was said I done, I modified it with a DOHC 1.6 L Engine 5 speed manual with Modified Camshafts, Mikuni 40s Side Draft Carburetors, Hi-Flow Headers and Exhaust System, Suspension Modifications and 215/50/13 tyres. Very cool performance for its time. My first "sleeper". :)

Thanks to the 170hp supercharged 1587cc 4A-GZE engine, my KE55 Corolla REALLY goes. Once the brakes and handling are sorted out, the engine will be modified to give more power.
