1980 Chevrolet Impala Preview summaryImage

The 1980 Impala welcomed in what would later be known as a decade of excess with many reductions: a lower, slightly shorter front end and curvier back reduced drag and cut car weight by over 100 pounds.

The engines were streamlined as well. A new 229-ci V6 rated at 115 horsepower was now standard, while a 267-ci V8 rated at 120 horsepower and a 305-ci V8 rated at 155 horsepower were optional.

The fuel economy for this car was estimated at 18 city and 26 highway, which was the best ever by a full-size Chevrolet.

Hard to say exactly what year it was. I made it out of three different cars. Strong 350 motor. No two doors were the same colour. Ran great for two years.Apr 15, 2008
