1976 Honda Civic Reviews, Pricing & Specs
Write a review
In 1976, Honda introduced the Accord, but it wasn't to compete with its own Civic. The Honda Civic had achieved a cult following, and even though there were no changes in the 1976 Civic, sales were even greater than in 1975.
There are still a few of these old '76 Civics driving around; they still get great gas mileage; and parts are even still available.
Because of their age and often heavy mileage, a used '76 Honda Civic can be pretty cheap, and often — according to their new owners — make great first cars for new drivers, who in some instances can buy them for only a few dollars, spend a few more for parts, and with a new paint job, even make it look like "a big M&M."

I ran 120,000+ miles on mine - 13" American Racing wheels & T/A tires. It handled like a slot car - got 45 mpg on hwy & 35+ in town. Had factory am/fm & needed the following:
new front fenders - dealer replaced for free
new head - cracked when timing belt broke
I wish I had it back! New car payment + $115/month for 36 months with $500 down... $2300 sticker price
1197 cc engine ran on regular
