This is a hardy little car that does great. very powerful and fun to drive. seats are very comfortable. It has the best of both worlds with the bed and power of a pickup and clearance and driving feel of a car. A great vehicle that was just a little to costly to drive with the distance i have to travel.Jul 25, 2013

The Ford Falcon is extremely popular in Australia, and always has been. Ford Australia had many many variations on the theme, and the 'Ute' was one of them. When the car was licensed to be built in south Africa, they changed the name to the Ranchero. So, oddly, the Ford Ranchero of South Africa bears no resemblence at all to the American Rancheros prowling the streets at the time.

I have a 1973 Ford Ranchero GT with 351 Cleveland motor. just gor a Four Seasons 58022 a/c compressor and can't find amount of oil to use in compressor. chart says see under hood specifications. What type oil and how much? anyone know? Thanks

Gas mileage for a 1973 ford ranchero with a 429?
I currently have a 73 ranchero 500 with a 429. I honestly don't know what my mileage is since I'm still trying to get it on the road but I haven't found anything about it on any forums, usually just on gts and 351 clevelands. I'm told I'll be lucky if i get around 10 MAX. Any thoughts about this and any thoughts about how I can improve mileage? Also the engine is stock except for the edelbrock 460 intake manifold, and the 750 cfm Holley double pumper.
