The 1971 Ford Thunderbird was the last of the 'Glamor Bird' models, nicknamed for their sleek, stylish lines. Very few changes were made to the design, except for a slight toning down of the 1970 TBird's pointy v-grille.

I have a vintage 1971 Thunderbird 4 Door with a stock 429 except for new Edelbrock carb. The car runs great except once it gets warm, it stumbles and pings very bad from a stop light under a load(engine revs fine in neutral). It has new points, condenser and coil. Any ideas?

I turn the key and get nothing: no accessories and the starter motor does not turn. I cleaned the battery terminals and replaced the ignition switch on the steering column. The headlight switch had been acting up before the problem, so I replaced it, too. Still nothing when I turn the key to start or to accessories.
