I need to know if my 1968 Mercury Cougar has a heat shield that protects my starter from getting too hot. I am not sure if there is one currently on the car and it tends to overheat even though I have changed the starter. It makes a winding noise when you start it again and a winding noise also. Does this year come with a heat shield for the starter?
I've got a 68 xr7 6.5 390. What's the difference between the 6.5 and 6.4 390 ?
Its a project car at best but when i saw the car i FELL IN LOVE with it. Ive done some research and i suppose the parts are somewhat hard to find but should i invest in this car?? And if so what websites should i look at to try and rebuild it?
the tank is plastic and I would like to know if it can be illiminated.
