I have a 64 Buick Skylark, I noticed a gas leakage on the ground and looks like it is coming from tank vent line.Line follows main fuel line and stops at fuel pump area. Also, line looks like to be a little lower than fuel tank. Is this normal or should vent line be turned up so it is higher than tank?
Since using the 50 weight oil three days ago, I noticed that the tap w ent away the second day but came back that evening. The third day when I started it up, no tapping, and throughout the day and evening no tapping. Should I assume the tapping is gone for good or is there something I need to do since it started tapping in the first place?
I have OEM gas tank. Can't normally get it to take more than 12 gallons from empty before nozzle shuts off. Although have gotten as much as 18.5 when pumped very slowly. Could the vent hose be clogged? I was able to put a large hose against the filler neck for a seal and got total resistance when I blew into it. There is no self-serve gas in Oregon and I'm getting tire of arguing with attendants. Could a lack of ventilation keep the tank from filling? Thanks.
is the original power plant for the 64 skylark an aluminum block 326?
Just curious, I don't like driving my car with that annoying tap and if worse come to worse, i'll have my lifters replaced. I don't want to do any uneccessary repairs but I want my car to run at its best.
