Its a nice car for the price we got it at. Needs a new gauge cluster but thats about it. It has a bit of rust on the under side of the car. Interior is good except for the gear shift lever and the side mirror adjuster on the passnger front. breaking is good. replaced the breaks about 133,500 Mi. This car is a 1996. And as a 1996 car things started to go wrong with it later on in it's life. I traded in this car in 2006 and only got $1000 fot it. Typical value for a North American car of that age. The engine was basically blow, but the body was perfect! I could have dropped another engine in it and kept going another 100,000kms. But that wouldn't have raised the re-sale value of the car. This car is very roomy and the "tape deck" worked great! (Also, comes out cleanly for a CD player to be installed) Sine it is 2008, I would not recommend this car to anyone looking for a used car, it's just to old. If it were 1996 again I so would, it was a great ride, and I loved it!Apr 19, 2008

I have a 1996 Buick skylark 4 cylinder
I go to start my car and sometimes it starts smoothly and at times it starts rough, and I can't go to a driver threw cuz it will run rough and now it shut offs whenever it wants at it start up most of time but I have put my foot on the gas to the floor and if I'm. On the highway it drives great but in town and have to slow down alot it shakes and runs rough... And at times if I have to reverse I have to put my foot on gas and brake... What is it???

'96 Buick Skylark, wont turn over.
We just got back from vacation (gone for almost a week) and before cranking the car that had been sitting there for nearly a week I decided to get some oil and add it into the top of the engine to help it with the turning process. I get in the car everything comes on the dash just fine, turn the key and the starter cranks, but nothing happens (the starter does sound a little different than normal more grindy). I have had no issues with the starter up until this point.
