Overview
In the early 2000s, Dodge resurrected the Charger name for use on a full-size sedan. Enthusiasts wailed that the car strayed too far from the original model’s legacy, but the automaker helped quiet some critics with a high-performance SRT8 model. It featured a massive Hemi V8 engine, made a thundering noise, and could outrun almost everything on the street. The engine, also used in the Chrysler 300 SRT8, was the most powerful V8 used by the automaker to date, and overpowered all of the original Charger’s powertrain options. Today, Dodge jams a V8 into almost everything it makes, but the Hemi move was a big deal at the time.

Pricing Details
The Dodge Charger SRT8 started at a little over $35,000 when it debuted, slightly cheaper than its corporate cousin, the Chrysler 300 SRT8. Like many American vehicles at the time, the car came with a few desirable features in standard form, but required buyers to pony up extra cash for things many Japanese automakers included. Options included automatic temperature control, a Kicker audio system, a sunroof, heated seats, and additional airbags. Used examples on CarGurus range from $19,842.00 to $49,701.00 with an average price of $21,026.11.
