The 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland joins Toyota’s growing EV lineup with some mild off-road chops, moderate range, and a very comfortable ride.
While the original Toyota bZ is the basis for this new rugged EV, the bZ Woodland is about 6 inches longer, has standard all-wheel drive, gets more ground clearance, and expands cargo capacity. This means it also has less electric range.
Through a partnership with Subaru, the bZ Woodland shares the same underpinnings as the Subaru Trailseeker. So, you’ll see a blend of Toyota features, such as the infotainment system, and Subaru features, such as X-Mode, on both vehicles. If you are looking for an alternative “off-road” EV, the only other real option will be the Hyundai Ioniq 5 XRT.
Verdict: The 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland comes in a well-equipped base model as well as an up-level Premium trim. It is ideal for someone who has an active lifestyle and needs to get to a trailhead or campsite with all their gear in the back.
