Are Dodge Charger models reliable?

Owners consistently praise the Charger for its strong performance, roomy cabin, and comfortable daily-driving character. Expert impressions also reinforce its appeal as a durable, satisfying muscle sedan with broad usefulness.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is most manageable when you verify condition carefully and focus on well-kept examples, since older Chargers can show more wear-related concerns over time.

What should I look for when buying a used Dodge Charger?

Across all model years, at 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2023 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Active Driving Assist, Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking with Vulnerable Road Users Detection, Active Lane Management, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Drowsy Driver Detection.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and built-in navigation on Plus models.

Which Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Charger offers these trims:

• R/T: The entry gas model brings 420 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic, making it the starting point for buyers who want Charger performance with standard all-wheel drive.
• Scat Pack: This is the best-value performance pick if you want the strongest mix of power and capability, with 550 horsepower, standard all-wheel drive, Launch Control, Line Lock, and Brembo brakes.
• Scat Pack Plus: This trim adds the larger 16-inch digital display, wireless charging, built-in navigation, and extra parking aids, making it the most feature-rich choice in the lineup.

What Dodge Charger do most buyers choose?

The Dodge Charger years with the most listings are 2022, 2023, and 2021.

These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare and a wider spread of prices and deal quality. That usually makes it easier to find the right combination of condition, equipment, and value.

What is the Dodge Charger's resale value?

Most Charger model years in this set are down year over year, which can work in your favor if you’re shopping used. A few newer and mid-cycle years are still rising, showing that demand remains strong for the freshest examples and the most desirable configurations. Overall, the table points to a market where many older years are softening while the newest ones continue to command premium pricing.

The 2023, 2022, and 2016 model years have held their value best, with prices flat to rising year-over-year.
