May as well have gone to Joe Blows Auto yard. The 1.9
star yelp rating this place has is WELL earned! They
offered me a car at $14,499. I signed for that price. Then
they went behind my back and charged me $16,994. The
sales price was nowhere in the finance papers so as to
obscure what i was paying behind taxes, fees, and
warranty. After finding out what they did i went back and
sat down with the finance manager and we conclusively
confirmed i paid $2.5K over what i should have. Yet the
sales manager refuses to speak directly to me, but
through a text from a sales rep, offered me a $1,000
check in an attempt to appease me After i declined,
they then back tracked and said i wasnt over charged. As
if they regularly dole out $1000 checks to individuals who
are mistaken. Tried to avoid blasting them like this, but
its been over two wks and theyve shown their true colors
THOROUGHLY. If they can find the integrity and ethics to

Overall terrible experience. They will absolutely take advantage of you so don’t let your guard down at any point. Get everything in writing because they tell you one thing and go back on it as soon as you take the next step. demand the full service inspection report. I asked several times, was sent something only showing 5 items checked. Told the manager, he still wouldn’t send it to me he would only say that his best mechanic went over it. Very shady practices. They tried to pressure me into forging my husbands signature so that they could have their contract signed right then and there instead of letting me go through the bank to do Esign like I wanted. This is a huge red flag. Literally the salesman told me to forge the signatures. They sold me a vehicle that shouldn’t have been sold. Luckily they are taking it back after my own mechanic has gone over it and told me absolutely don’t buy it. very rude, disrespectful and untrustworthy. And don’t trust pricing they list here

I was ready to purchase a vehicle.. I contacted the dealership and they put me in touch with a gentlemen named Jason.. Jason asked me what pricing saw online. I told him and he said he would get back to me after he talked to his manager. The price listed on CarGurus is not the price when you contact San Marcos CJD.
They inflated the price and would not honor the price listed on CarGurus.
Very disappointed.

I tried to buy this vehicle at the price published. Salesman Mason stated that the car was worth $6,000 more. Below Masons response
The price online if you go on our website has the price listed with all applicable rebates on it so 2000 in rebates and then on top of that we will double down on any rebates you qualify for and that’s what get you to the 48k and then we have costs tied into the vehicle due to the fact that we sell all of our vehicles new and used ready for the consumer rather than having to do things after market. In addition to our perks of ownership adding to power train and oil changes the whole package all together gets you to the total of 58k before we add any kind of rebates I know we could probably make it to 56k

Great inventory however don't believe the online pricing. Was ready to pull the trigger on this vehicle and the price jumped almost 5k.
Post actual prices and let the customer decide because this was a waste of time and emotion.

I went to look at and test drive this vehicle...but it was in their shop being inspected and repairs was being done so I was unable to make a decision...But Alex was very helpful...up made the trip to another dealer and purchased another vehicle from them....

Please be aware that price quotes are not to be trusted from this dealership. Their
salespeople will not answer straightforward questions on pricing, and will not follow up
with requested information on pricing differences. Even after I received a price quote on a
vehicle on their lot by email, the phone quote was $4500 higher before tax, title, license.
The sales guy told me that "this is an upcharge because we are losing money on this
vehicle" This is not a place I will do business.

It was a bait and switch. I showed up to see the car advertised for $12,700 (out the door price) and they
claimed a $2,500 package had already been added to the car. The first offer they gave me was over
$15,000. They finally came back and said the lowest they could do was just under $14,000. All cars
have recent hail damage and their offer didn't even include fixing it. Overall, add at least 2.5k to the
offer you see online and that's closer to the actual price they will sell it for.

When we originally asked about this car the mileage was listed as significantly less than the actual mileage.
The price was commensurate with the low miles. Eventually, the mileage was changed on the ad to the more
accurate reading. We were no longer interested in the car with the additional mileage. We sent an email
directly to the dealer asking for more pictures as we live out of the home state of this dealer but were willing to
travel for a low mileage vehicle in good condition. Unfortunately, we never got additional pictures but it worked
out as this car was not for us.

They didn’t even have anything like this on the lot. It’s seems to be a totally fake ad. And they won’t answer your question. It’s always. “ what payment you want”. Never could get a price on what we did look at. Went to Austin bought a renegade that day with no problem. I’ll never go back to this lot.

Horrible sales experience. Will never go back!
Was told the Jeep I was looking at was ready for
test drive and drove from Austin to San Marcos
(45 min), only to find it was in the shop and could
not be driven! The offer I then received on my
trade was about half of what KBB and Cargurus
said it was worth. Very disappointing.

They are very responsive but I get only to have a drive test and of course I don't want to drive all the way from Houston to San Marcos for a simple drive test , I was looking to buy the Jeep
The dealership uses deceptive advertising practices. They tried to add $4000 to the online price claiming “addendums” that aren’t reflected in the published price. When I inquired about the “addendums,” I’m told it’s for a 7 year warranty, yet the website advertises the warranty “All at no cost to you.” They’re just dishonest. Take your business elsewhere. There are numerous similar complaints about these tactics that have been filed on the BBB website.

I inquired about a new Ram 3500 they advertised on here with and the dealer tries to sell it to me for more than MSRP. Says there is nothing
he can do. I only qualify for a USAA discount. BEWARE OF THEIR BAIT & SWITCH TACTICS. Terrible business model does not work with
intelligent buyers. Keep your inventory. I will spend my money with honest dealers.

I was told that even though the car was on their lot they couldn’t sell it due to age and mileage. It was automatically added to their inventory. I was very disappointed that they had a car for sale but couldn’t sell it.

To start, the salesman was twenty min. late for our appointment. After the test drive, we sat down to discuss price. Due to the wear and tear on the vehicle, I asked for a price reduction. The salesman left in the usual way to go and talk to “their manager” I tolerated it. After returning instead of lowering the price, he increased by 5K.
I said no and started to walk out when he said give me one more chance to see what he could do. I again tolerated the “manager” ploy. After another ten or so min., a different guy walked in the room, when I asked who he was, he said he was a sales rep. Ignoring the fact that he wasn’t a manager, he proceeded to tell me the best price they could do was the $5K increase from the original sticker price. I again said no. At that point I decided I wasn’t going to give these two clowns my business. I got up and walked out.
My problem with the is you get thrown for a loop with an addl 2300.00 added to the vehicle when you get to the dealership. You don't hear about it until you sit down to discuss the price. This is one of those high pressure sales places. Couldn't get the price fm the sales person. He kept putting me off to sign some papers.

I made multiple attempts to get more information on three separate vehicles and got absolutely nothing of substance. Two vehicles didn't have photos, so I requested some. Despite being promised pictures on more than one occasion, I never received any. I managed to get a hold of a sales rep one time, and I asked to verify the price for two of the vehicles. I was quoted an initial price $4-5K higher than what was listed. I exchanged a half dozen emails and called at least five times without result. Due to their completely non-existent customer service, they've lost a prospective buyer on multiple vehicles within their inventory.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER!! I reached out to this dealer and inquired pricing on a vehicle. I agreed
to their price without a haggle. After reading reviews on CarGurus, I was hesitant to make the hour drive
without getting the price we had agreed upon in writing. That is when they ended communication. I was
contacted by 2 others from this dealership and all were eager to get me to make the drive. When again, I
agreed to their pricing but wanted it in writing the contact stopped with no answers to me subsequent
correspondences.
They are using shady tactics in order to lure you to the dealership with no intent on honoring their own price.
Not only did I purchase my vehicle from another dealer, but this has forever influenced my view of this
dealership for future purchases. Waste of time and energy.

I called the dealer to put a deposit on a 2018 Ram 2500 Lone Star Cummins advertised at
$46,999.00. The salesman Christian asked how I heard or new about the truck. As soon as I
said I saw it advertised on CarGurus, he informed me that they ad an addendum of $2500-
3000 to the $46,999 advertised price. Shady, shady, shady. Thank God I did not waste my time
going to the San Marcos Dodge and finding out in financing. The poor reviews showing the
same experiences must be true too. They all received this cookie cutter response:

and fly from Oregon to pickup, only to
be told from salesman that "we don't pay
attention to what the internet price is... the
actual price is $53,000 plus fees". They
said they are not bound by third party site

This dealership listed a new 2020 challenger for $23,894 plus TTL.. i drove over 8 hours to come see this car... i been asking for over a week for the sales price and was told I will get a good accurate figure once I come in the dealership... on my way to the dealership, I got a text at from the salesman derrick that the sales price is $28,191... i test drive the car when it was time to make the deal, they told me they added addudem to the car like... here is the text that I received - We are selling the vehicle at $28,191 which is including our dealership addendum that is applied by my director on all our vehicles which covers lifetime paint protection at any dodge dealership, lifetime interior protection from seats to dashboard, the tinting we apply to the windows and the tire protection as well with nitrogen... the only thing that they did was tint the window which as about $200 the most.. the review other people left are true.. i will be reporting them to BBB.. very disappointed

Went in after making appointment. Got handed over to a diff sales guy, the one I had spoken
with was busy, no biggie. My problem is with the dishonest pricing. It's 2020 and this dealer is
still playing the old school games. Price on here is $27,925 that's what drove me there in the
first place. I even received an email from the dealership saying other incentives they had and
the sale price could be $25,925. However once I was there price was $33,925 They would
not respect the price of $27 listed here on Cargurus AND on their own website!. Plus to top it
off their offer for my trade was insulting. And he knew since yesterday we were gonna go see
this particular vehicle and it was dirty. From previous test drives I assume, but filthy floors,
hairs on seat, trash in console. Very disappointed with this dealer!

I would give 0 stars if I could.
One of my requests got totally ignored by them. The other basically got ignored after their first reply. I mailed in
my pre-approval, mailed them repeated requests asking them to speed up the process cause I was looking to
seal the deal quick. After waiting for days I looked elsewhere. After I puechased and drove home in my new car
from a different dealership, I received a call from one of their sales person claiming my selected models were
"sold" (yet they are still advertised on their website and CarGurus 5 days later).

Very deceptive pricing. Do not believe what you read online. They only list low prices to
get you in the door. I was led to believe I could get the dealer price before tax, tags and title but when it came time to discuss the price I would pay I was offered a price
which was even higher than the sticker. Perhaps this dealership should go with an upfront pricing program to be more transparent on their pricing. It was almost as if they
didn't want to sell me the vehicle since they were so unwillingly to work with me. Will not be going back to this dealership ever and taking my business elsewhere.

!!Buyers Beware!! The price you see online is not the price they want you to pay. We went to look at one of there trucks and the salesman quoted a price that was $2,000 higher that the listed price on CarGurus. When questioned the salesman specifically said “we put the lower price online to get you in to the store.” There was multiple discrepancies with there listing compared with the way the truck looked. In the listing it said nothing about having body damage that required a new bumper and the bed to be re-painted or about having dents along the side.
If you looking for a dealership that will bait price a vehicle just to get you in to their dealership and a salesman that will not mention nothing about body damage until you physically point it out then this dealership is for you.
I will not be conducting any business with this dealership not just on this vehicle but in the future as well

Worst experience ever with a car dealership. They will not honor the 21790.00 price. They said it was a mistake. They wouldn't even honor the the higher price from yesterday. They wanted to add 1000.00 on top of yesterday's price. Had to talk them down 500.00. Mike and these guys are a ripp off. Check your prices before dealing with this dealership.

Contacted the dealer on Tuesday and no one returned my inquiry. Drove to the dealership on Wednesday afternoon and a salesperson helped me only they could not find the truck on the lot. I was the 1 to actually find it sitting in a service bay up on the lift. The salesman told me he would text me the next morning, but never did. I came back the following afternoon and upon closer inspection I noticed the trim around the rear wheel wells was coming off, At least 2 of the 6 tires would have to be replaced, and the cab had a huge dent in the rear right side about a foot long from top to bottom as If the previous owner had backed into a 5th wheel trailer. Truck was listed at 48.9k, and when we sat down they wanted to charge me $2056.00 for VIN etching, nitrogen filled tires, and window tinting. Long story short the vehicle is now listed for 1000 more than original. You should run fast and far away from any dealer that tries to charge you for optional services.

They have 2k worth of markup, vin etching, nitrogen in tires, clear coat, and some leather protectant, as if it were a brand new vehicle. I found French fries and trash under back seat and they said it had been detailed. Nice car but actually has 73k miles. They wanted 28k with 2,800 down. Thanks but no thanks.

I asked for pictures since there were none. Reply was to give my phone number. I replied I wanted to see some photos before driving the hour to dealership. No answer back. Next day add was gone and I still have not received a reply or note to say the vehicle was sold.

Typical dealer. They send you a email quoting a specific price and ask you to come in for a test drive. You rearrange your day to take advantage of the great deal they promised. You arrive at the dealership and they tell you you cant test drive the car until you agree on a price. You tell them you agree to the price they quoted you. They tell you that not their real price and the price with "add ons" is actually, thousands higher. This must work on some people otherwise they would not do it. But to me, in my opinion, its shady and deceptive.

I ask for a build date and they came right back with the date witch told them that the date they gave me would not work for me because that date put's the gen 2 engine in the truck.
If you're really interested in a vehicle just call or text. The email is not dependable. They email immediately but do not follow up for days.
So I test drive the 2017 GMC truck listed at $36,995 in their Used specials online advertisement. I get preapproved and drive an hour to the dealership. After the test drive I haggle with Rhette and tell him we can seal the deal quickly at $36K even. He talks to his manager (Of course) and comes back with a counter offer of $40K. I tell him the advertisement reads $36,995? Rhette gives me the run around about add-ons that are not included in the listed price. (Then why isn't the listed price $40K?!) We haggle until the price is reduced to $36,999 and he tells me how good of a deal it is. $5 over the listed price! That should've been the starting haggle price! I walked out due to their reindeer games. See if anyone can give you a Walk Out the Door price before you go. Online pricing is deceptive and dishonest. Waste of time.

I have not been able to find time to go to San Marcos to visit the dealership, but they did contact me and answered any questions I had. This is a beautiful car with everything I want and at a very good price. Time and circumstances will eventually work out for me. Thank you, and keep up the good work!
Very disappointed with the dealership. To start with, the price for the Jeep is not what is listed on the car gurus site, or their dealership site. They told me the Jeep was $26,999 when it’s clearly listed for $23,999. Then, they offered me $7,000 below NADA value for my trade that I bought brand new from them 2 years ago. I wasn’t pleased with this dealership the first time I purchased from them but thought I’d give it another shot and was once again disappointed by them. This dealership looks for anyway to get an extra dime out of the buyers. They do not seem to value whether or not you’re getting a good deal on a vehicle. I absolutely will not be visiting this location again.

Very disappointed. The price was raised up by $3,000.00 by the time I got to the dealership. I saw the price on their website and on CarGurus, both were the same. When I got to the dealership the price was not the same anymore. They said Cargurus was misleading on the sale price! I didn't buy a car from them. Very bad experience and do not refer this dealership to anyone.
