I called Matt Vogelzang, he described the car. Put earnest money on the car and picked it up the following day. Matt was very helpful he had the
paper work ready for me handed him my check signed about eight pages and out the door. It took less than thirty minutes.
Matt came out and set the navigation receiver and away I went.
The car is perfect and the dealership was AWESOME. I would recommend it to anyone.

I saw a Prius listed on CarGurus and realized it was at Nelson Automotive—the dealership I’ve driven by several times a week for years. Super convenient! I stopped in to check it out and had a great experience. The staff was very helpful and low pressure. They answered all my questions and even shared the service records for the recent repairs, which was really reassuring. They’ve got nice cars and are genuinely nice people. I’ll definitely be back for service too!
Stopped responding after I asked for samples of the
fluids.
UPDATE: Saying the transmission is a sealed system
is not telling the whole truth. Im a manager at a
quick lube. I could ask any of my technicians to get
fluid samples and they'd do it in under 5 minutes.
Especially for a dealership it felt like lasy work.

You contacted us from out of state on a Friday afternoon requesting fluid samples—engine oil, transmission fluid, and transfer case fluid—for a Toyota Camry you were considering. Since the transmission is a sealed system, a salesperson couldn't simply check it; we had to schedule a technician from our service department to extract the fluid, which is why it took more than a day.

Surprisingly, I thought I was going to a small private dealer. They happened to be a 12 car
showroom. I wasn't able to complete the deal on the Viper due to the very small seats.
Matt was very professional salesmen and showed me a Tesla P90D that I did purchase
and was able to get a 4K take rebate. Saved me thousands.

Nelson Automotive is the best used car dealer I've ever personally done business with. I made my purchase entirely online and over the phone. Matt made the process very easy and even sent me tons of photos before I signed to make sure there were no surprises and after all the paper work was finalized he had the car delivered to me in just a few days. Other dealers were sending me contracts with an extended warranty charge already applied to the price while Matt at Nelson Automotive asked me if I wanted it added (and just one time) so the other reviews they have are spot on.. no BS added charges with these guys! Although I did not purchase the car I was thinking of getting, Eric and his guys were professional, no high pressure tactics, and treated me with respect throughout the entire process.
My husband and I have recently purchased a truck from this dealership, and when I tell you we had the best experience ever, we did. Eric and his team were great. Eric made sure we left with the best deal possible and we’re very satisfied. Customer service was great. We’re so happy we found this dealership on here. We will be returning customers and will refer any and everyone that’s looking to buy a car.

The thing I should have paid closer attention to is all the power options on the car. A lot of them don’t work. I left there content with the salesman but not so with the car. There are parts that I’m going to have to fix to get the car up to par. I did buy the car sight unseen. My fault.

Words will not describe this auto dealer , you will have to experience it yourself . Don’t take my word for it , stop and talk with Eric Nelson . I’ve been shopping for a car for some time , most dealerships are aggressive and annoying at best . I’ve had guys refuse to give me my keys back so they can try one more tactic to sell me their car . At Nelson automotive the cars will sell thenselves , Eric and his staff will be there to help anyway they can . I wasn’t sure that a honest used car dealer existed until last week . They also do mechanical work and auto body work . If I sound like a commercial, it’s because thats my intent . I bought a nice car and had a great experience , the best I’ve had in almost 40 years of buying cars . Nelson is worthy of my trust ! Can you say that about your auto mechanic or the people you buy cars from ?

Easy to work with.
I didn't buy a car here but the initial experience communicating through email and phone were very
pleasant. Matt responded quickly and I had all my question addressed. I like how transparent
everything was. They got autochecks and car faxes with every car and they did not hesitate to give me
an out to door price and breakdown of fees. Sometimes you got to wring it out of some dealers but
these guys seems pretty easy to work with.

comment! The point was, why is the
dealer making an appointment for me to
look at a car that they knew I wanted
which is no longer on their lot?! I was
literally phoned within the same day, an
hour and 20 min before my appointment
time! I remember this because it was
unprofessional that you guys did not
realize the car I wanted was no longer

I drove an hour and half to see this vehicle. It was nothing like the picture. It had lots of damage and the dealership was a dive.

Beatiful and cleans cars was everywhere here. Young lady took me for a test drive and gave me good knowledge of the vehicle. Finance had good clear accommodations and good places he refered for financing. Great place no hassle.
I just bought a 2012 Civic from Nelson Automotive Inc. Probably the best experience I had buying an used car so far. Their pricing is good and better than most in the area and I was still able to negotiate a little and able to close the deal. Matt is your guy if you're choosing this dealer to buy a car. No BS, no stories. Straight to the point and I'm happy with my purchase. If I'm looking for another used car in future I know now where to go and who to see... i'd highly recommend this dealer.

I spoke with Matt several times prior to our test drive and he was very friendly and informative. Although he (Matt) wasn't there when we arrived, we were greeted by another salesman who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the vehicle. In the end, we didn't purchase the vehicle, but the experience was low pressure and very worthwhile. Based on their customer service, we will certainly consider this dealership again for future purchases.

This is the best bunch of people I have ever bought a car from. First I had no intentions of buying the car, just wanted to get familiar with the make. They, Matt, Eric, and Stephanie, were so helpful and professional I wound up buying a 20,000 dollar car. I knew I was in the right place, when at 1:00 pm on Saturday this place was full of customers. They bent over backwards to accommodate me, and I'm a picky car buyer!! I walked away very pleased with the purchased, and very impressed with their service. We are not big flashy dealership, nor do we want to be like one. I apologize that the car you came to see had a dead battery; these Chicago winters do cause us to replace hundreds of batteries each year. Whenever that happens we replace the battery and add the 5 year warranty on it to the customer in addition to our standard 3 month warranty! Thanks for coming in!

The folks at Nelson Auto were some of the nicest people we have ever dealt
with, anywhere. We received a good deal on our car. Before we purchased
it, they let us take the car to our mechanics in Downers Grove for a
complete check. When some potential problems were pointed out, they
created a special 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty to cover these areas.
Everyone there made this car purchase a pleasant experience. We would
highly recommend Nelson Auto to anyone.

I traveled about an hour to buy a car, my credit was not the best but Javier was able to get me a pretty good deal,so not only did I get the best price in the market for the car, I also got a great rate, and did I mention they offered me a free warranty on the car, needless to say Nelson Automotive help me get what i wanted. good selection of cars for me to look at too. I ended up
purchasing a 2003 Honda Civic with 154K miles on it and it

I bought several vehicles from Matt and Eric and have always been happy with their honesty and fairness. I once had an electrical problem within a week of buying a car from them and they took it back for several days, sent it to a Buick dealership, and returned it to me fixed at no cost to me! I honestly can't see a reason to have my cars serviced any where but there or buy cars from any one but them as long as they continue to treat me as they have in the past!

The whole story from the beginning. I saw an internet ad for a 1996 F150 Eddie Bauer edition. I called and they wanted a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold it until I could come to see it. When I saw it, I bought it. The $500 was credited to the purchase price. I drove it home and loaded up some items to take to Missouri. Then I left and within 2 hours the exhaust pipe from the muffler on back fell off blowinig up (Exploding) the right rear tire. Called Nelson and they suggested I had run over a bolt or something. While waitng for the service man from the garage to arrive a trooper stopped by and looked underneath and said the pipe failed due to being mostly rusted through. When the service man came, he too said it had fallen off due to rust. Went on to MO and then cme back. When I took the truck to Nelson with all the parts (exploded tire, exhause pipe etc.) they said they'd pay for the labor to fix it and I'd have to pay for the parts. I asked that we split the cost of the parts. No, I'd have to pay for them. I found one of the parts myself to save $80 dollars or so and had it delivered to Nelson. They had the truck for nearly two weeks and when I went to pick it up I tried for the 50% split on parts again. They did give me their cost on the parts but I still paid over $300 additional. After I took the truck for a safety inspection I found out it need new upper and lower ball joints. So there's another added expense. Bottom line, don't buy anything from Nelson or any other dealer unless you can get it thoroughly inspected by YOUR trusted mechanic. I failed to do this and will be paying the price from now on. :(

Even though it is impossible to know if the tire blew out because something was run over, or not, we always give the customer the benefit of the doubt as we did for you.
