Kind of a mess. We purchased over the phone. Would assume it would be same experience as going in and buying on site. Everything worked out in the end and we ended up getting the vehicle. I just think they need to work on there systems

I drove their from Chicago for a test drive appointment. After waiting for more than 20 minutes, I was told the car was being serviced and I could not test drive it that day. Then a week and a half later I had another appointment for a test drive. About 2 hours for my appointment. I was called back that the car was still being serviced. I waited a few more days for them to call for a test drive appointment, but they didn't. I had to contact them to let them know that I ended up buying a car at another dealership. I was very disappointed because I was really interested in that car.

Told them I was interested was waiting on the car to pass inspection and get cleaned. Floormats were dirty. There was a bag of food in the back, mascara in the car and stickers stuck to the dash. It would’ve taken 10 minutes to just do a once over when it came in but somebody bought it right after I looked at it before detailing or inspection. Salesman was nice. Not motivated but nice.

i was treated horribly. So bad I wouldn't let them give me a car for free. They lied to me over and over .bait and switched prices. , the car was so filthy the previous owner still had things in the car and garbage too. Windows were so dirty couldn't see out of them .they treated me like a crook. And changed sales people on me like 4 or 5 times. Couldn't believe it.and they actually told me it went up a 1,000 over night .couldn't believe my ears.when I tried to negotiate and compared it to another car some where else was told and I quote " why don't u buy that one "" so I bailed on them QUICK.,Real Quick. Horrible experience

Car was shown as having 10k miles on it, instead it had 17k and they corrected it online after I tested it on the road. Also, carfax showed 1 owner but it never showed an oil change being done on the car until 10053 miles (crazy). Also, from June 23 to October 24 the car had only 1 mile done accoriding to carfax. A lot of mismatching and their product specialist could not explain as to how and why. I left the moment he could not say a thing about it.

I had a horrible experience at this dealer. I expressed interest in a car, and they contacted me and we set up an "appointment". When I got there they said that the car was "just" sold, but they happen to have a newer model of the same car. Abbas offered a $500 discount off the advertised price, however when I called back a couple days later to let them know that I'm coming in to buy the vehicle and to confirm the price, Abbas changed his mind and said the discounted price was only valid last week. These people are sly and I would stay far away.

Shady dealer!!! Drove 500 miles to look at a GV70. When I got there the vehicle had undisclosed damage, stank of smoke and they were adding thousands of $$ to the price we already agreed on. Also they were not honoring the offer they made on the vehicle I was trading in. They were shorting it by $5K. Shady dealer!!!

Horrible. Would not buy a vehicle here. Salesman basically told me they make the cars look good and sell them knowing thing may go wrong. They only offer a 15 day warranty which is a huge red flag. They also add in a charge $1000 for paint onto the OTD price but the listed price doesn’t not reflect that. Also we heard a manager telling a salesman “go you go get the highest amount of money you can from those people. I walked out mid conversation.

Pushy sales manager. Stated the deal is off the table if I leave to talk it over with my wife I was told one thing when looking at the car then when negotiating price the price went up. So I left too many red flags at this place.

RX330 I test drive this car drove slowly. Because brakes were. They said will fix it after 2 hrs they call back, braks were still bad I had to push the padle all the way down to slow down. Even thaugh we set the the price. But I had walkout. Brake Master cylinder is bad. I OFFER 7K.

First i made an apointment to go and see the car i went the next day to drive over 40min just to find out the car was taken by the manager on his day off. i wnet the next day to check out the car i liked it i was intrested. The manager jim was disrespectful and the price of the car went up by $4000 because of the random stuff they add. I really wanted to buy the car but the dealership is really bad they need to be more respectful to the customer and more understanding of the customer needs. Thank go i didn't buy the car from them will never go back. They also have really bad communication.

Absolutely the worst car buying experience ever. I had an appointment set up with our inside sales to come and see the vehicle. She confirm with me at 1:30 in the afternoon I told her I would see her in an hour. I drove 20 miles to the dealership they told me that the jeep was sold in the morning the dealership was filthy. All the windows are filthy. It was about 80 Degrees inside and nobody knew what was going on. I will never go back. I contacted Hyundai to tell them what their dealership look like. I am Elgin a.m. no one responded to me.

I made an appointment just to find out that the vehicle was not in the showroom, but in service, poor communication between departments. A waste of my time driving 45 minutes to see nothing. Salesman Jim very nice but nothing he could do.

The worst experience! They put a $2000 extended warranty on the car . I asked them for a better deal and after 15 minutes They back and add $3000 more than what they listed the car for on CarGurus. They definitely insulted my intelligence! What a shame!

Sales manager impolite. Allow me to elaborate. I got a nice form email from the General Manager of this dealer telling me what a wonderful dealer they are with a great sales and service staff, free coffee, etc. Then the Sales Manager (don't remember his name) called in reference to a specific type of car I was looking for--a 2022 Elantra Hybrid. I hate to say this but he just wasn't very nice and did not seem very patient either. I come from a generation and a background where the customer is treated royally and that just did not happen here. Period. If this dealer wants to make amends and tell me what they have on order and what the drive-out price is I will be happy to amend my review. I'm leaving the door open. Thank you.

They replied to my initial inquiry immediately but did not have the answers I was looking for as the car was not yet available even though they had posted it for sale on cargurus. They never did reply again with the answers to my questions and when the ad for the car was finally updated the price was ridiculously high.

Test drive was a bit brief but it was long enough to feel everything I hoped to feel with this car. Negotiations were a shell game of hide and seek (as they are everywhere these days) but I agreed to a deal that wouldn't provoke night sweats. Delivery was confusing as it was my salesman's day off and while pleasant and accommodating, no one quite seemed to know what to do with me. But it eventually came together; all the papers were signed and the plates were screwed on and I have a spiffy new Elantra N at a price that was palatable.

Call the dealer about the truck and ended up playing phone tag with the rep. Finally I call them again and decided to talk to someone else to negotiate the price of the truck and the lady was not very professional. This dealer is also adding about $2600 dollars to the listed price in dealers fees meaning more profits for them . Call several times and that lady actually give me that information after another person told me they dont do that the listed price is the price plus of course taxes and plates. Last but not least I told the lady, I'm interested let me know if you guys are willing to remove the $2600 dollars of dealers fees and I will go and pick up the vehicle .She told me I will talk to the manager and let you know im still waiting for an answer 5 days later. Looks like communication is an issue here I do not recommend this dealer.

Horrible. They put a $3000 extended warranty on the car I purchased after I told them I didn't want it. They charged $2000 more than what they listed the car for on CarGurus. After making several calls to the dealer, got the GM who told me"if you don't like the car, return it" and when I got there to return it, he then said he wasn't taking it back! I trusted them and I shouldn't have. Will never go there again. Worst car buying experience I have ever had!!!

Thank you for other reviews already posted! Very rude on the phone. Price online was suddenly raised by $3000 for “dealer accessories”. I asked for an explanation and received none. Was told, “ I’m just telling you the price of the car”. Hung up on Leonides and took my business elsewhere!! Don’t go here!!

Lied about a car they didn’t have. The dealership called me in the morning asking me if I was going to come in to look at the car. I said I was coming in because I was interested in the vehicle and drove an hour to look at it. When I got there they said the car I was interested in was there loaner vehicle and would I like to look at another vehicle and of course a lot higher cost.I asked why they called me in the morning to come in if they didn’t have the car that was on cargurus web sight . The car that was on the web sight was described as a new vehicle with 10 miles on it. They had no answer .

Very Rude Manager Jimmy I came with a friend in for a 2018 Hyundai Genesis G80 Ultimate. The salesperson Steven was friendly and happy to work with us for a good deal. He presented a payment plan. However, the Internet price and extra costs amounted to more than I was pleased with—close to the MSRP Price. Some were outrageous such as D&H $500, government $300, AIP $2999, License & Doc $369 and others fees. He subtracted off the coverage and doc & license, but couldn’t budge with the D&H fee which I don’t know exactly what is for besides paying for the car to sit in the lot. We did a walk around once more and showed him defects of the vehicle and gave him a fair price. With hopes on making a great deal, I was disappointed when the manager Jimmy took over and compared other G80’s that weren’t comparable at all (those had a much lower mileage). He rudely refused our offer especially when the car had significant rash burns on all four wheels, 60k miles, a car accident, extensive damage

These people are the reason car salesman get a bad wrap. An informed consumer that can add and subtract is their worst customer. I made my purchase through them only because I have a new born and I had a babysitter for that evening. Additional fees such as transportation and “pro pack” totaling $2300 were such a struggle to get removed. For all those reading- there should only be one transportation fee and it’s usually on the sticker included with the price of the car. Adding fabric and germ protection were claimed to already be installed on the car so they couldn’t remove it. Miraculously the added $1000 nitrogen and other nonessential were taken out when I attempted to walk out. Rather than sell me on Value I was being lied to. Particularly the finance guy who Tried to sell me a bunch of add-one and wouldn’t take no for an answer- even when I told him clearly NO, Not to mention his calculator wasn’t working that day. His numbers never added up to mine

First of all, I am very satisficed with the car. But the dealership is way too busy for me. I had to deal with 3 employees till I was done and out. The communication between them needs improvement. It took over 4 hours till the deal was done. And on the end they had nobody to mount my licence plate on my new car. The paperwork was incomplete and it took me another day afterwards to straighten that out with the help of the General Manager. I personally like a smaller operation better and just deal with one sales person - less hassle.

Do not count on their words unless they give you a printed offer. I had an offer which wouldn’t work for me. I talked to them over the phone and ask them if the price was negotiable I would stop by to buy the car and they were like: “If you’re serious stop by and we can get to the numbers that work out for you”. I drove all the way to the dealership and they did not honor what they had said over the phone. Not even a dollar less than my printed offer.

The dealership was very willing to do what was needed to make me happy. From the initial contact with Katie in the online department, to Carlos the sales manager who made sure they would accommodate my concerns and desires, to Lauren who handled the actual test drive and wrote up the sale and finally Mohammed in finance who handled the paperwork- they were all very friendly and pleasant. I got the car I wanted without alot of hassle and Lauren was great setting up the electronics very quickly in the car. My time at the dealership was minimal, which was important to me. The car was clean and ready for my test drive and ready quickly for my purchase. Every concern was addressed in a timely manner by either email or phone. I visited a few other dealerships over several months while looking for a car. I would recommend this dealership above beyond. Worth the 40 minute drive each way. Thank you Elgin Hyundai!

Not good I took the truck for a test drive the salesman lack of interest to sell the manager asked me what can I do to sell you the truck then he walk away from far away he said I sell it for 9000. I went outside to look at the truck so I said okay I’ll buy it then the manager came back and said no I can not sell it for that price this truck is loaded and he walk away

They called right away, their internet specialist did. assured me as I asked questions about the quality & condition of the car before driving 3 1/2 hours that if there were ANY red flags at all, it wouldn't be on their lot. This was Friday. Fast forward to Monday evening when I went to buy the car....3 days from speaking to me and my arrival, they didn't bother to pull the car up and check it over or anything before I got there. I waited quite a while for the guy to track it down and bring it up for my test drive. As soon I walked up to it, i noticed red flag 1...a pulley or power steering was making a racket. Red flag 2...back up camera didn't work and so on. I drove the car to evaluate the value of it still. Upon returning i apoke with the manager, rather upset that I'd driven so far and was lied to about the car. The manager says we can pull it in the shop and look at it, its probably just the idler, it should be an inexpensive fix...no. Shoulda did all that before I got there

In the finance office, the finance guy "forgot" to include my deposit on the buyers order. I believe him as he made the "correction", only to find out that he stuck a $499 fee for "Theft Deterrent" on the sales order without mention of it. I got no paperwork on it or anything of the sort. I was literally Taken for $499 PLUS the interest I will pay on that money on the loan. I like the car, and the salesman by the name of Lou was fantastic. BUT for a $499 Undisclosed fee I cannot and will not recommend or purchase from their dealership ever again!!! Also, their listed price for a CPO vehicle is NOT the price. They will try to upcharge you over $1,000 for that. We ended up at about $700 for the CPO part of the car which still made the vehicle an ok price; but NOT as advertised online. Update: they sent a $499 payment to the creditor to “refund” me for the undisclosed fee.

Normal experience. I got a call right away. I decided that I wanted to go with the LIMITED trim, so that's why I didn't pursue this car. No complaints about the dealer.

They were great, so great that I purchased the vehicle, would not hesitate to refer them to anyone. Tabitha contacted me right away and answered all of my questions even made sure that the sales dept knew that I was going to be a little late for my appointment very friendly , my sales person Adam was really good and very understanding, helpful, and friendly also he was the reason that I decided to purchase the vehicle , my final contact Nick was also great very helpful and answered all of my questions also very friendly.

1 star for the only positive part of my experience. I was contacted quickly by Daniela. She was super helpful in answering my questions and scheduling me an appointment however I was told that the car would be out for me when I got there and it wasn’t. When the salesman pulled up in the car I can tell already that there was bubbly rust and it was painted over in 2 different spots. The trunk door wouldn’t even open, which they said they’d fix if we wanted it but I had to make sure a stroller could fit in it before purchasing. When you walked to the other side there was a huge scratch from the back door to the passenger door. We passed up the first car. The second car was a 2009 Honda Civic Ex which was clearly in some kind of minor accident. As soon as he pulled that one up front there was scratches like the owner got too close to a pole, the back bumper was cracked, and 2 decent sized dents. They wouldn’t move on the price and asking $6,000 for it. Overpriced for the amount of damage.

One star only because I can’t use zero stars.We have purchased numerous vehicles over the years and have never had such a stressful and frustrating experience than with this dealership! Information was deliberately kept from us even when we asked direct questions. We were straight up lied to regarding the time it would complete the deal twice as well as during negotiations. We couldn’t get a straight answer about the interest rate for the loan until three quarters of the way through financing which was hours after agreeing on a price. Then add on fees that were never disclosed were put on our final price after we had turned down every “offer” made by both the salesman and the finance person. We love the car but would never recommend this outfit to anyone, not even our worst enemy! So if you were thinking of going there, turn around and run in the other direction!

Drove nearly 2hours away for a car they sold before I arrived. when I told them clearly the distance I was coming from. customer service is garbage,they are only about money here n throwing you inside a car and sending you off unhappy! in away I’m glad they did not have what I was looking for! that means I’m not stuck doin business with this untruthful dealership...

I took a risk to acquire the exact make and model I was looking for. It was out of state, I didnt have time to drive down and look at it in person. We bought the vehicle but they wanted to charge $194xx with tax when they were asking on Cargurus and their web site $14789 w/o tax and title. Finally settled on more then we should have paid but we made the 2 1/2 hr drive. Few other things that didn’t get done that was talked about with salesperson, floor mats, Sirius radio, vehicle detailed before arrival. Pretty disappointed

At 2:45 PM they told me, over email, the car would be out front and ready to drive when I arrived between 5:30-6:00 PM. When I arrived at 6:00, the car salesman made up 4 lies straight to my face telling me: 1. Give us a minute, we’re pulling up the car now. 2. 5 minutes later he said: “I can’t find the guy who has the keys, so give me a minute.” 3. He comes back 5-10 minutes later telling me “The guy was out filling up the gas tank and he’ll be back shortly.” 4. 5 minutes later walks in the door and says “I found the guy with the keys. He was out taking another car to get the gas filled, yours it out front now and ready to go.” When I walked outside, the entire back windshield was still coated with a thick sheet of ice and the rear bumper was covered in 8 inches of snow that he began wiping off with his hands. Long story short, they lied to my face to cover the fact they didnt have my car ready and stall for his guys to clear off the car as quickly as possible. Unimpressed.

Good price with some issues. Tires in front were good but tires in rear were old and dry rotted. Had to buy new tires. When brakes are applied there is a shimmy which is a rotor out of round. Mentioned to dealer said nothing wrong? After buying checked air cleaner and it looked like it had never been changed so had to replace. No sound amplifier was doa but dealer replaced. Needed front end aligned as it was pulling to left. Dealer aligned front end. Supposedly the dealer inspected everything but I really wonder. Should have noticed the brake issue as this is a safety thing and the front end pulling to the left another safety issue. It would seem their so called safety inspection was not done. I called the salesman, Pete, with a question and never got a reply back. I would rate this dealer three stars. More than likely will not buy from them again. Larry

They Called said they can work with my credit and the down payment we had discussed when I got there it took them an hour just to check my credit and an hour to tell me there was nothing they could do to approve me. Wasted an hour driving to the dealership and 2 hours for nothing.

Would not trust anyone in this dealership. LIES, LIES and more LIES. Spoke to Michelle Friday morning about 2 different certified cars and confirmed the price for these certified cars. She called me back and said she just looked at both of them and they looked great. She would have them upfront so we can look at them when we arrived. When we got there neither car was upfront. Was handed off to salesperson who went to look for the cars. He came back and said one car was sold 2 days earlier but he would pull up the other car. I wanted to know from Michelle how she looked at a car that was sold 2 days earlier. Salesman pulled up 2nd car and the back bumper on the drivers side was completely smashed up. When we went to the lot with the salesman to look at a different car he started to explain that the cars have been put through the certification review, but we would have to pay an additional $1,500-$1,800 for the certification. We also could not turn down the certification. There web site still lists cars as certified for a price but you have to pay additional for the certification. Completely lied to from start to finish. The experience was so bad, that when the salesman went to get a manager, the manager would not even come over and talk to use. Would have given no stars if I could have.

I contacted them about a car they had online. They replied, and asked when I wanted to see it. We set an appointment for the next morning. When I arrived they informed me that the car was no longer there. They did, suprise surprise, have other cars to show me. I am not a big fan of bait and switch tactics, so I walked.

My experience with this dealer started off well, the salesman was very friendly & patient. I test drove four vehicles, I decided to purchase a different vehicle & not the one I went in to see. After deciding on a vehicle, that is where the annoying used car dealership practices kicked in. I was told that there was no wiggle room with pricing because the "internet pricing" is already below market value. That was the first red flag. Next came the financing, I have pretty good credit so I wasn't worried about obtaining a good rate, but the constant back & forth of the salesman going to the back became very annoying. We agreed on a price, then he informed me that there is a mandatory charge of $997 for all the vehicles on their lot for "interior coverage" & there was another charge of $600 for window etching. Neither was optional. Needless to say I was not happy about the "mandatory" upsell options. I would have given a higher rating but I think they have some shady mandatory charges that are added to the financing.

We made an appointment to see the car. We drove 3 hours one way to purchase the car. We called 3 times to confirm the time and how far away we were. We get there and they said it was sold. That it had been sold on Saturday this was a Monday. The car was still in the lot. Asked to speak with a manager and he said "We just sold it five minutes ago. what are they supposed to do, turn down a sale because we say we are coming to look at it?" We had an appointment!! We wouldn't have drove 3 hours to not purchase the car. They tried getting us to buy something else instead. They were VERY RUDE!!! I felt like it was a bait and switch scam. Not professional at all!! Then they emailed me 2 different times trying to get me to come test drive the same car that they just said they had sold the previous week. Horrible experience!! Don't go there! Read their reviews first!! I wish I had before wasting all that time driving there and back home (six hours) for nothing.

I called and asked a lot of questions about the car. They said it was perfect. I drove over an hour to look at it and it was junk. The rear bumper was cracked and paint was faded and missing. Also 3rd gear didn't work and the guy before painted the wheels black the paint was coming off and faded and looked terrible. The car was terrible I would never go back under any circumstances. I looked at 2 other cars when i was there because I drive so far and they were both in the same shape. Way overpriced.

im interested in a vehicle and I was pretty much going to buy it on the spot but the website doesn't have actual pictures of it there's just a generic one like from a search engine. About two weeks ago I called and asked for some to be sent to my email because I live an hour and a half away and I'm not going to drive all that way if it's Not worth it, I mean it's an 02 I'm expecting wear and tear it's not going to look brand new obviously! . Regardless I called and asked for some pics and someone said they'd get some sent later that day. I waited, no email. Next day I called and was told the vehicle wasn't available because it was being detailed, okay understandable, they said I'd be contacted tomorrow when it's finished . A week and a half goes by no contact. I called today and the woman I spoke to said that she'll have some pics sent to my email or by text today. Doubt it. If I don't receive these pics by the end of the day they lost a sale. I mean it's pretty much a done deal and they're blowing it and getting a bad review on top of it

I was contacted by dealer in a timely manner. However I didn't pursue the vehicle, but I must say the salesman was very professional and courteous and their emails were quite nice too. Since I didn't pursue the vehicle I rated the dealer 3 stars.

Salesman was very patient and helpful although I couldn't reach an agreement with his manager despite end of year and the 2014 Azera not being really popular. Wouldn't consider a price comparable to other dealerships.

They suck, I went in to look at a car that was advertised online they said it had sold, i got home and got a phone call saying come check out the car arent you gonna come see it? I told them it was sold. then i got three more calls over the next week about coming in to see the same car that i was told was sold. They have know idea what is going on there, i would never buy anything from them. They advertised that same car a month after they told me it was sold. Elgin Hyundai is a waste of time, they play games and end up confusing they`re own employees.

Nice sales man. Car I looked at needed a jump. Bad first impression. Interior was not cleaned well (old candy wrappers cramed in seats, stains, tears) yet they were asking full Nada value. Finance guy was short tempered. Went to another dealer and drove one home that looked brand new with less miles otd for cheaper than the sticker price at Elgin. 3.5% points cheaper on financing than Elgin too. Not a good dealer to buy from. Customer in the next room yelling because they sold him a 2wd claiming it was a 4wd. Shady dealer all around.

We went in to look at the car. The salesman immediately wanted to up sell on seat protection product for $1000! And he insinuated that this is in addition to the price not stated on the internet. They also would not negotiate on the price. We felt this dealer was trying to take advantage of us, and we left,

Why bother asking what people think about their car buying experience if you DONT post what they want to say? My post was rejected 3 times? The car they sold me and said was a certified car, the engine blew 20min after leaving their lot. people have to know this!
