A&J Auto Group deserves a GOLD START for giving GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I arrived without an appointment (because I was told it was not needed). When I got there I saw the minivan that was advertised. I walked onto the lot and was greeted very friendly by "Jason".
He told me that his lot was divided in ownership between himself and "Danny" who owned the minivan I was interested in and Danny was not there. However, Jason was nice enough to let me inspect the minivan WITHOUT pressure!
I took at least 45 minutes to thoroughly inspect the interior and exterior of the minivan including using my OBD test device.
Finally I was satisfied with my inspection and asked for a test drive and was very pleased there was NO hassle!
Jason took a photo of my drivers license and then gave me the keys to take it on a test drive -- by MYSELF!
Because I got lost ... I took the minivan for almost a ONE HOUR test drive. I apologized when I got back but there was no hassle from Jason.

The guy who is there at the office was very kind and gave me a lot of space which I appreciate. My main concern was I was there to buy a car. The car itself was priced just fairly according to CarGurus, however there was damage both cosmetic and mechanical that I was left a find for myself and wasn’t disclosed to me. When I did bring it up they were hesitant to address the pricing more than a few percent, Even given the fact that some of these repairs were a Passenger side mirror that was now dangling, and a third row seat where the entry didn’t function at all. The answer I was given by their manager wise you can go buy parts on OfferUp if it bothers you. Would never recommend this dealer to anyone. Just a waste of time.

After you left I had Kevin have a look at the vehicle Passenger inside mirror and it turned out to be only of the track and was clipped back in. As far as the rear seats not functioning you forgot to take the head rest off to be able to fold it completely.

Dave contacted me soon after I requested information informing me the vehicle was available.
We met with Kevin the following day to inspect and test drive the vehicle. He met us by the
vehicle with the key and asked to let him know when we wanted test drive it. Kevin was very
helpful, friendly and zero sales pressure. The vehicle was "as advertised" and Kevin gave us a
current copy of the Carfax.

Absolutely great experience. David and Kevin were super accommodating,
no pressure. When I test-drove the truck (2004 Ford F-150 4x4) and thought
there was something wrong with the 4x4 system, David had his shop check
it out to make sure it was okay (it was, my mistake, didn't shift to 4x4 while
in neutral :o). The truck was very clean, beautifully detailed, inside and out,
and in incredibly good condition. And the price was $2,000 below CarGuru's
estimate of market. Could not be happier- thank you, guys!

Dealer described his Mazda 3 as being "Very well Maintained and
Serviced" and "In Immaculate Condition In and Out." I told him over the
phone I'd be getting an inspection to confirm it the next day. I drove an
hour and a hal sf to the dealership to find the car in poor condition: the
engine didn't sound good (Disclaimer: I have very little experience or
knowledge about cars) but also the A/C wasn't working at all and there was
signs that fluid had leaked under the car. The salesman repeated twice "I
don't know much about cars but I know we could charge the A/C for you but
it could all drip out on your drive back and I wouldn't want that to happen."
So I decided not to take the vehicle for inspection because it was clear that
it might be a difficult problem to solve (and anyways the car did not appear
to be in "immaculate" condition at all). Next, I looked at a similarly priced
Saturn Vue that when we started it up also did not sound good and it
appeared to have a lot of smoke coming out of the exhaust. (The
salesman corrected me that this is due to normal "condensation" but I
wasn't convinced... there was a reason this dealer was selling the car for
under $4k and it wasn't charity).
Finally I tried out a Toyota Camry that was just under $5k. The car had
strong A/C and the engine sounded fine. Cosmetically it was terrible, with
a thick wax/paint stain in the back seat and a dent on the side... worn down
window blades, and like the others, a very worn-looking engine. But I
decided to take this one to get an inspection, knowing the strong reputation
of the Camry. The inspection demonstrated that despite the dealer's
Carguru description "No Accident... No Mechanical Issues, Drives Great"
there were actually very unresponsive breaks (they might be baaarely
within legal limits but that was debated)... the vehicle had in fact been in an
accident which was apparent from the way the frame had shifted and
someone had tried to reattach it around the headlight... (and not to mention
the noticeable dent on the side of the car near the engine). And also, it
appeared it might have difficulty with future smog inspections due to a few
minor issues I wasn't technical enough to understand. There were a few
parts needing replacement, including the struts which caused the car to be
very unstable around turns...
I returned to the Dealer suggesting that I buy the vehicle for only $500 less
even though it was really worth closer to $1k less due to all these
discrepancies. The Dealer however has a 100% no negotiation policy and
told me he can sell it all day long at the current price... Well.. it's been
almost two weeks and it's still there. The salesman assured me I wouldn't
find a better price but I did... and now I'm the happy owner of a much more
reliable appearing car for (guess what?) $500 less than A&J insisted on
receiving.
Moral of the story: don't waste your time.

Thank you for your review, seems you are not familiar with the California Law. By law we have to charge you Taxes and DMV Fees and those fees are mandatory and are not part of our profit.
We also Charge for Smog($50) that we perform on all our vehicles (Policy) and $65 Documentation fee. This are all standard fees, and every dealer charges them.

Mike was awesome! He was on time and tooK us to the car, which was just steps away. The car was as advertised and he was honest about the work that needed to be done on the car. He even offered to hook us up with the discounted parts and repair. In the end, we decided not to buy the car because it was the first car we looked at and we wanted to look around more.

Great guys! David and Kevin were really helpful, very friendly, and super accommodating. It did take a little bit of time to get the car but that was primarily because they were being extra cautious to give me the car only because they were dealing with a new finance company I chose to go with. They let me take the car when I needed and were willing to do whatever it took to work with my credit union and get me into my new car. So easy to reach and kept me in the loop the entire time we were getting every step of the way handled. Love my car and would definitely highly recommend these guys! They are trustworthy and are definitely top-notch guys who do honest business and also aim to make the customer happy. Wish you guys were closer to me in LA but that’s about all the qualms I have :) THANKS GUYS!
