Key things to evaluate:

• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay connectivity with Google Built-In and a larger touchscreen with sharper resolution.
• Fuel efficiency: The XC90 plug-in hybrid offers up to 33 miles of pure-electric range on a full charge.

Which Volvo XC90 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Volvo XC90 offers these trims:

• Core: The entry trim starts with the B5 mild-hybrid powertrain, standard AWD, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a seven-seat layout, making it the value-focused choice.
• Plus: This trim adds the Orrefors crystal shift knob and opens the door to richer interior materials, including quilted Nordico, perforated nappa leather, or herringbone weave textile; it suits buyers who want a more upscale cabin without moving to the top tier.
• Ultra: The top trim adds the 14-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Sound system, a head-up display, and access to the optional 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity audio system; it’s the best fit if you want the most premium equipment.

What Volvo XC90 do most buyers choose?

The Volvo XC90 years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to draw the most attention because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right price, trim, and condition. They also tend to be the easiest years to shop when you want a broad selection of used XC90s.

What is the Volvo XC90's resale value?

Most XC90 model years are down sharply year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want to benefit from lower asking prices. The newer models are falling too, though by smaller percentages than many older years. Overall, the pattern points to broad price softening across the lineup rather than stability.

The 2024, 2025, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
