Used Toyota Prius for Sale nearMoultrie, GA

How much does the Toyota Prius cost in today's market?

Used Toyota Prius prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Toyota Prius's current nationwide average price is $18,558, and its lowest point over the past year was $14,725. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023 and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Toyota Prius a good car?

Yes — the Toyota Prius is a strong used-car pick if you want efficiency, everyday comfort, and a reputation for practical ownership. The all-generations owner rating is 4.7/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise its fuel economy, reliability, and comfortable ride, and they also call out cargo space and safety as part of its everyday appeal. Across the lineup, the Prius comes across as a dependable, value-focused hybrid that works well for commuting and daily use.

Expert reviews rate the 2016 and 2024 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs that show up in expert reviews are a cramped back seat, limited cargo space in some years, and real-world fuel economy that can fall short of expectations in the newest model. Some years also bring a less engaging driving feel and more road or wind noise.

34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Toyota Prius models reliable?

Owners consistently praise the Prius for its reliability, fuel economy, and comfortable ride, and expert coverage reinforces its reputation as a practical hybrid built for everyday use. Across the lineup, you also see recurring praise for its value, efficiency, and commuter-friendly character.

• Owners rate the Toyota Prius between 4.3 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is generally tied more to hybrid-system repair costs and maintenance history than to the car’s core reputation for durability.

What should I look for when buying a used Toyota Prius?

Across all model years, at 67.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2023 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 standard in every 2025 Prius, with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Toyota Audio Multimedia with an 8-inch touchscreen on LE, XLE, and Nightshade Edition trims, plus a 12.3-inch touchscreen on Limited; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included.
• Fuel efficiency: The Prius’ hybrid powertrain includes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine and an 83-kilowatt electric motor, with Toyota saying the net output measures 194 horsepower; with AWD, Toyota adds a second 30-kW electric motor at the rear wheels to provide extra traction when necessary, which increases the net output to 196 hp.

Which Toyota Prius trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota Prius offers these trims:

• LE: The entry trim gives you the Prius’s core hybrid efficiency and Toyota Audio Multimedia with an 8-inch touchscreen, making it the value-focused starting point.
• XLE: This trim adds more comfort and convenience equipment, and it’s a strong choice if you want a better-equipped daily driver without moving to the top end.
• Nightshade Edition: This trim adds black 19-inch wheels, black exterior trim, and an exclusive Karashi paint color for a more distinctive look.
• Limited: This trim adds the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and is the best fit if you want the most advanced tech in the lineup.

What Toyota Prius do most buyers choose?

The Toyota Prius years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

Higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, more pricing spread to shop, and a better chance of finding the trim and condition you want. They also often line up with newer design and tech updates, which helps keep shopper interest strong.

What is the Toyota Prius's resale value?

The table shows a mixed picture, with several recent years posting small declines and several older years rising. That means used shoppers can find some softer pricing in newer model years while older examples continue to command firmer values.

The 2021, 2022, and 2023 model years are holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2019, 2015, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with prices flat to rising year-over-year.
