Performance - Brilliant acceleration and deceleration ability with awesome handling! Build Quality - The built quality is very good. Carbon fiber everywhere! Appearance - The appearance is fantastic! Cost of Ownership - You'll be fine till the warranty is over! Gas mileage is just okay. Fun Factor - Quite fun around a track!

My slr mclaren is a fast car capable of 208mph and 0-62 mph in about 3 seconds. I use it to go and play golf and for going to work because it is a good grand tourer and good track car.

To say the McLaren SLR is amazing is an understatement. Insatiable power, exquisite attention to detail, and looks that scream class just exude from this car. Handling a tad light around corners but holds the road very well. Truely an awe insipiring car to look at, and driving it is just on another level. Only negatives, the car is very expensive on maintenance, and fuel consumption is not that much better. But seriously, when you buy a car like this, who really cares about fuel or tires? This car is meant to be used and used for what it was meant - to be a hardcore, boy racer!

Acceleration awesome, listen to that V8 - no other engine comes close, some say it's like a spitfire, it sounds even better than that!! Stunning looks, fantastic finish inside and outside. Drives like an absolute dream. Just point and squirt, goes wherever you want it to go, it's so easy to drive, even my girlfriend who's not the most confident of drivers and only got her licence 5 weeks ago took this round a track and down a runway at 170mph!!!!

Co-developed by DaimlerChrysler and McLaren Cars, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is a “supercar“ capable of accelerating from zero to 60 miles per hour in an astonishing 3.4 seconds. The car has been produced by the joint venture since the 2005 model year.
Unlike the Porsche Carrera GT, Ferrari Enzo, and other supercars it was built to compete against, the SLR McLaren gets high praise for its comfort and features. Most users liken her more to a “grand touring car“ than a supercar. The biggest complaint about the car seems to revolve around its brakes, which are designed for “panic stops at 200 miles per hour“ and don't perform well for handling at lower speeds.
The SLR McLaren has a supercharged 5.5-liter dry-sumped V8 that produces 626 horsepower and 575 ft-lb of torque at 3,250 - 5,000 rpm. The car's engine is the original SL-55 AMG engine, but has been optimized by enlarging the fuel pump, the cylinders, and installing a larger cooling system that absorbs air to cool down the engine.
