Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The turbo-four engine gets an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city, 34 mpg on the highway, and 28 mpg combined. The 4MATIC version does one mpg worse in each category; lower fuel economy is typical for an all-wheel-drive vehicle.

Which Mercedes-Benz GLA trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA offers these trims:

• GLA 250: The entry-level GLA brings the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, plus the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and standard MBUX infotainment; it suits buyers who want the core GLA experience with strong tech and everyday usability.
• GLA 250 4MATIC: This version adds all-wheel drive and the same 221-hp turbo-four, making it the better fit if you want the GLA’s compact luxury feel with extra traction.
• AMG GLA 35: This trim steps up to 302 hp, AMG-specific sport suspension, high-performance brakes, an AMG-specific exhaust system, and multiple drive modes, making it the best-value choice for buyers who want the GLA’s performance character most strongly.
• AMG GLA 45: The top performance model adds 382 hp, 354 lb-ft of torque, a reinforced body shell, upgraded brakes, sophisticated engine cooling, and additional dynamics modes for the most serious performance focus.

What Mercedes-Benz GLA do most buyers choose?

The Mercedes-Benz GLA years with the most listings are 2025, 2026, and 2024.

Higher-volume years usually draw the most attention because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right color, mileage, and equipment mix. They also tend to be the easiest years to shop if you want a broad selection of listings.

What is the Mercedes-Benz GLA's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the lineup, which can work in your favor if you’re shopping used. Most model years are posting double-digit declines, while a few newer years are falling less sharply than the rest. The 2023, 2021, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

• 2021: 7/10

Mercedes gives every GLA a reasonable amount of active safety features, including blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, vehicle-exit warning, automatic emergency braking, driver-drowsiness monitoring, and crosswind assist.
