Which Mercedes-Benz C-Class trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class offers these trims:

• Premium: the base C300 trim with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 11.9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 18-inch wheels, a sunroof, and ambient lighting; it is the best-value trim for shoppers who want the core luxury and tech package.
• Exclusive: adds more equipment than Premium and sits in the middle of the lineup for buyers who want a richer feature set.
• Pinnacle: adds a head-up display and augmented-reality navigation system for shoppers who want the most advanced tech in the lineup.

What Mercedes-Benz C-Class do most buyers choose?

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

Higher-volume years usually give you more choices, which can make it easier to compare trims, mileage, and condition. They also tend to be the years shoppers cross-shop most often because inventory is deeper and pricing is easier to benchmark.

What is the Mercedes-Benz C-Class's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, and several recent ones show double-digit declines. That pattern can work in your favor if you want a newer C-Class at a lower used price than it carried a year ago. The smallest changes are concentrated in the older and mid-cycle years, which suggests those examples have been moving more steadily.

The 2020, 2017, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

• 2022: 7/10
• 2017: 10/10

For the safest used buy, the 2017 model posts the highest confirmed score of 10/10.

Should I buy a used Mercedes-Benz C-Class now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −15.66% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −12.16%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 32.5% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 32.6%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $37,011. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class offers a premium cabin, upscale styling, and a distinctly Mercedes feel that carries across the lineup.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The C300 uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, and it works with a nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
• Tech: Even the base C300 Premium model gets a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 11.9-inch touchscreen, and Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard as well.
• Safety: The 2022 Mercedes C-Class does get an array of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)—many of them as standard equipment.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
