Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: The 2022 C-Class includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with safe exit assist, a driver-attention monitor, Pre-Safe, and Pre-Safe Sound.
• Infotainment: The 2022 C-Class uses the MBUX infotainment system with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 11.9-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It works with a nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The latter includes an electric motor that serves as the starter, and it can contribute up to 20 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque in short bursts. Which Mercedes-Benz C-Class trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class offers these trims:

• C300 Premium: This base trim starts the lineup with the 11.9-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 18-inch wheels, a sunroof, and ambient lighting, making it the best-value choice for most shoppers.
• C300 Exclusive: This trim adds more upscale equipment while staying close to the core C-Class formula, and it suits buyers who want a richer feature set without moving to the top of the range.
• C300 Pinnacle: This top trim adds a head-up display and augmented-reality navigation system, making it the pick for buyers who want the most advanced tech in the lineup.

What Mercedes-Benz C-Class do most buyers choose?

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

Higher-volume years tend to attract more shoppers because they offer a broader mix of pricing, equipment, and availability. That usually gives you more chances to compare condition, mileage, and deal quality before you buy.

What is the Mercedes-Benz C-Class's resale value?

Most C-Class model years are down year over year, and several recent years show double-digit declines. That creates a more favorable setup for used buyers, especially if you want a newer model with more equipment at a lower price than it commanded a year ago. The smallest changes are concentrated in the older model years, which suggests those cars have been moving more steadily.

The 2017, 2019, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mercedes-Benz C-Class safe?

• 2022: 7/10
• 2017: 10/10

The 2022 Mercedes C-Class does get an array of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)—many of them as standard equipment.

For the safest used buy, the 2017 model posts the highest confirmed score of 10/10.
