loved it, what else can i say apart from its a merc, handled itself like a true beast , and looked... oh damn like car should. great interior, great performance, every looks at you when you drive cause its a merc, there only thing that i can think of bad is that it drinks like i dont know what, but for the pleasure that you get out of it, it is worth it.

This is the way a Mercedes-Benz should be. Personally, I am a BMW man but could not resist this W126 500SEL as a restoration project. The vehicle itself is a 1986 model and not 1990 as it is listed here; the program's earliest year was 1990. Full leather, electrics and 5 litre carburetted V8...and its the long wheel base model, rear seat passengers get leg room galore. Performance wise...WOW! SO MUCH TORQUE! Only problem is the V8 is fuel thirsty :) Styling wise; it's classic Mercedes-Benz. The new ones are too...'plastic'...this Mercedes-Benz looks like a tank!

good acceleration as it's got to drag 2 tons along! handles like a tug boat. Can't fault the build quality good as new. Bloody ugly car a brick with the edges taken off. Don't even go there with cost of ownership about 8 mpg when driving hard 13 mpg when being gentle. It's no fun to drive just very relaxing and easy.

Mercedes-Benz upped the power quotient of its early-1990s model line with the 500-Class, which featured the automaker's 5.0-liter V8 engine. Starting with the 500SL, introduced in 1990, Mercedes soon added the 500E and 500SEL sedans to the line, and in 1993 introduced the next-generation 500SEC Coupe. All models came with a long list of standard features that helped defined the luxury automaker's cars, including leather seats, cruise and climate control, and power everything, from windows and door locks to mirrors and antennas.
