What should I look for when buying a used Mazda CX-90?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability.
• Infotainment: A 10.25-inch infotainment display, Amazon Alexa compatibility, text-messaging support, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on the base Select trim level.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating for the CX-90 3.3 Turbo and Turbo S in combined city and highway driving is 25 mpg.

Which Mazda CX-90 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 offers these trims:

• Select: The entry point, with a 10.25-inch infotainment display, Amazon Alexa compatibility, text-messaging support, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and standard driver-assist features.
• Preferred: A step up for shoppers who want more comfort and convenience while staying in the 3.3 Turbo lineup.
• Premium Sport: A strong value choice if you want the larger 12.3-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and added safety tech.
• Premium Plus: The best-value trim for many buyers, adding front cross-traffic alert, automatic intersection braking, automatic rear braking with pedestrian detection, and a surround-view camera system with see-through and trailer-hitch views.

What Mazda CX-90 do most buyers choose?

The Mazda CX-90 years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.

Higher-volume model years usually give you more choices in trims, colors, and prices, which makes it easier to compare listings and find the right match. They also tend to be the years shoppers return to most often because inventory is deeper and deal selection is broader.

What is the Mazda CX-90's resale value?

Prices are moving down across the model years shown, which is good news if you’re shopping used. The larger drop in the newer year suggests recent inventory has become more affordable quickly, while the older year has also softened meaningfully. That creates a favorable setup if you want a three-row SUV with a lower entry price than when it was newer.

The 2024 and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mazda CX-90 safe?

• 2026: 8/10
• 2025: 9/10
• 2024: 8/10

Mazda’s Cruising & Traffic Support technology—which steps up automation a little from adaptive cruise control but still requires drivers to keep their hands on the wheel—is also standard on these higher trim levels, along with post-collision braking.

For the safest used buy, the 2025 model posts the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Mazda CX-90 now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −18.59% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −9.07%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 34.8% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 34.4%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $32,837. The Mazda CX-90 offers a stylish, upscale cabin and engaging handling that make it feel more premium than many three-row SUVs.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: In the CX-90 3.3 Turbo, the inline six makes 280 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque running on regular gas, while the CX-90 PHEV generates 323 hp and 369 lb-ft on premium fuel and delivers 26 miles of electric-only driving range.
• Tech: A 10.25-inch infotainment display, Amazon Alexa compatibility, text-messaging support, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on the base Select trim level, while other trim levels feature a larger 12.3-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging.
• Safety: Premium Sport and higher trim levels also have active blind-spot monitors, lane-keep assist, and head-on traffic avoidance steering assist.
• Starting price: The 3.3 Turbo model range is the most affordable, with Select, Preferred, Premium Sport, and Premium Plus trims ranging from $39,300 to $50,270.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
