How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-90 cost?

Prices have softened 8.97% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,922 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-90 a good car?

Generally — the 2024 Mazda CX-90 earns a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

The CX-90 is aimed at you if you want a three-row crossover that feels genuinely enjoyable to drive rather than merely practical. Its rear-wheel-drive architecture, stylish design, and premium-leaning cabin help it stand apart from more conventional family SUVs, while the available turbocharged inline-six and PHEV powertrains give you strong performance choices.

The trade-offs are clear: the PHEV electric range could be better, and the technology can be frustrating. Even so, the CX-90’s combination of driving polish and upscale presentation makes it appealing if you want family-hauling capability with a more engaging personality.

39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which is a healthy sign of market availability.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-90 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-90 is built around Mazda’s emphasis on driving feel and premium execution, and the expert review highlights strong powertrains and composed handling as core strengths. Its plug-in hybrid setup is designed to improve efficiency, while the conventional turbocharged inline-six gives you a more traditional performance-oriented option.

The review also notes that the CX-90’s technology can be frustrating, which matters for day-to-day ownership because infotainment usability affects how satisfied you feel over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a great driving experience may be offset if you’re sensitive to tech quirks or want the most seamless ownership experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-90?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are strong but not universal. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the powertrain, electronics, and any signs of uneven wear or repair work. It also helps to compare trim equipment closely so you know whether the vehicle has the features you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The CX-90 spans a wide range of trims, from lower-end Turbo models to higher-spec Turbo S versions, and the base trims do not deliver the same upscale interior treatment as the top models. If you want the most premium look and feel, pay close attention to cabin materials and equipment differences.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged inline-six and a plug-in hybrid setup. The inline-six emphasizes strong conventional performance, while the PHEV adds electric driving capability and efficiency, though its electric range is a trade-off.
• Safety package: i-Activsense is standard and includes blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, smart brake support with front-crossing and turn-across-traffic identification, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Higher trims add cruising and traffic support.
• Infotainment: Mazda Connect uses a rotary controller instead of a touchscreen for native functions, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available in higher-level trims. Personalization software with facial recognition is also part of the setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The PHEV returns 56 MPGe in combined driving and offers 26 miles of all-electric range, with 490 miles of total driving range.

Which 2024 Mazda CX-90 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-90 is offered in 11 trim levels: Turbo Select, Turbo Preferred, Turbo Preferred Plus, Turbo Premium, Turbo Premium Plus, PHEV Preferred, PHEV Premium, PHEV Premium Plus, Turbo S, Turbo S Premium, Turbo S Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• Turbo Select: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the CX-90’s core driving character and design without stretching for extras. It’s the trim to consider if you care most about getting into the model at the lowest price.
• Turbo Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without pushing you too far up the price ladder. If you want a balanced mix of equipment and value, this is the one to start with.
• Turbo Preferred Plus: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for a clearer step up in amenities. It suits buyers who want a nicer daily experience without jumping all the way to the top trims.
• Turbo Premium: This trim is for you if you want a stronger luxury impression and more of the features that make the CX-90 feel special. It’s a good fit if you value refinement over bare-bones practicality.
• Turbo Premium Plus: Pick this if you want the most complete version of the standard turbocharged model before moving into the performance-focused Turbo S lineup. It’s the right choice if you want a well-equipped CX-90 with broad appeal.
• PHEV Preferred: This is the entry plug-in hybrid, so it makes sense if you want electrified driving capability without paying for the upper PHEV trims. It’s best for buyers who prioritize efficiency and want to keep costs in check.
• PHEV Premium: Choose this if you want the plug-in hybrid powertrain plus a more premium feature set. It’s a sensible middle ground for shoppers who want efficiency and comfort together.
• PHEV Premium Plus: This is the best PHEV choice if you want the most complete plug-in hybrid version of the CX-90. It’s the trim to target if you want efficiency, equipment, and a more upscale experience.
• Turbo S: This is the performance-oriented choice, with the upgraded inline-six character that gives the CX-90 its strongest conventional powertrain personality. Buy this if driving enjoyment matters more to you than value.
• Turbo S Premium: This trim adds more luxury to the performance formula, making it a better fit if you want the stronger engine and a richer cabin.
• Turbo S Premium Plus: This is the top-end choice if you want the most luxurious and fully featured CX-90 experience. It’s the one to buy if you want the best of the model’s design, power, and equipment.

The safety suite is standard across the lineup, but higher trims add cruising and traffic support.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-90?

• Deal availability: 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,922 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.97% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,029, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-90's resale value?

The current average of $30,029 sits slightly below last year's $32,986.

That softer pricing can work in your favor if you’re buying now, but it also means future resale will depend on how well the market continues to value the CX-90’s premium feel and strong driving dynamics. If demand stays steady, the model’s distinctive positioning should help it hold attention better than a more ordinary family SUV. If technology complaints continue to matter to shoppers, that could limit upside for some trims.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-90 safe?

The 2024 Mazda CX-90 has not been crash-tested by IIHS or NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

i-Activsense is standard on every CX-90 and includes blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, smart brake support with front-crossing and turn-across-traffic identification, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Higher trims add cruising and traffic support, which blends lane-centering with adaptive cruise control.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.97% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 stands out for its excellent handling and premium-feeling powertrains.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $32,369, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $30,029 average.
• It adds a more upscale-feeling package with unusual powertrains and a stylish cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because prices are softer and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to pay more for the newer model year, the 2025 is the path to consider, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2024 while deals are still available.
