Used Mazda CX-5 for Sale nearStillwater, OK

How much does the Mazda CX-5 cost in today's market?

Used Mazda CX-5 prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Mazda CX-5's current nationwide average price is $23,597, and its lowest point over the past year was $21,541. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023 and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the Mazda CX-5 is a strong pick if you want a compact SUV with style, comfort, and driving enjoyment at the center of the experience. The all-generations owner rating is 4.8/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the CX-5 for its luxurious feel, comfortable ride, stylish interior, and strong performance. Safety features and overall value also come up often as reasons shoppers like it, while the model’s engaging handling helps it stand out from more ordinary compact SUVs.

Expert reviews rate the 2019 and 2018 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs in recent expert reviews center on fuel economy, the aging six-speed automatic, and the underpowered feel of the latest powertrain. Even so, 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Mazda CX-5 models reliable?

Owners consistently give the CX-5 high marks for comfort, value, and driving enjoyment, and expert commentary repeatedly highlights its polished handling and upscale feel. Across the lineup, it comes across as a well-liked SUV that delivers a satisfying ownership experience.

• Owners rate the Mazda CX-5 between 4.6 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership picture is strongest when you choose a well-kept example and review its history carefully, especially on older model years.

What should I look for when buying a used Mazda CX-5?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 79.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: adaptive cruise control with speed limit assist, automatic emergency braking with Turn-Across Traffic detection and Head-On Collision Mitigation, rear automatic emergency braking with rear cross-traffic alert and pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitors, vehicle exit warning, driver-attention monitor, traffic-sign recognition, front and rear parking sensors, and dynamic guidelines for the mandatory rear-view camera
• Infotainment: a 12.9-inch touchscreen on all trims except the top-tier Premium Plus, which gets a 15.6-inch unit, plus Google built-in, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates the CX-5 at 24 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 26 combined mpg

Which Mazda CX-5 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda CX-5 offers these trims:

• 2.5 S: the entry trim brings standard AWD, Google built-in, a 12.9-inch touchscreen, and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, making it the best-value starting point for shoppers who want the core CX-5 experience.
• Select: adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, giving you easier smartphone integration while keeping the CX-5’s standard AWD and tech-forward cabin.
• Preferred: adds 19-inch wheels, a power liftgate, a head-up display, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 10-way power driver’s seat with memory; this is the best-value trim.
• Premium: adds a Bose 12-speaker audio system and SiriusXM satellite radio for a more upscale daily drive.
• Premium Plus: adds a larger 15.6-inch screen, a 360-degree View Monitor with underfloor and parking views, a Driver Monitoring system, rear USB-C ports, paddle shifters, and the most advanced safety and convenience equipment in the lineup.

What Mazda CX-5 do most buyers choose?

The Mazda CX-5 years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2026.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you the broadest mix of pricing, condition, and deal opportunities. They also sit close to the newest model years, so you can shop for modern features without paying the highest prices.

What is the Mazda CX-5's resale value?

Most CX-5 model years are moving lower year over year, which is good news if you want to buy used. A few older years are edging up, but the overall pattern still favors shoppers looking for recent-model value. The 2014 and 2017 model years are holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year. The 2015, 2016, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with prices flat to rising year-over-year.

Should I buy a used Mazda CX-5 now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −6.65% versus a year ago, and the 2023 model is at −2.0%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 40.9% good and great deals, and the 2023 model has 38.6%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $26,631. The Mazda CX-5 offers a stylish, upscale cabin and a fun-to-drive character that make it feel more premium than many compact SUVs.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The only available powertrain is the carryover SkyActiv-G 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder, producing 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque and paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
• Tech: You get native Google Maps for navigation, the Google Gemini AI voice assistant for natural-language commands, and access to the Google Play Store for downloading apps directly to the infotainment system.
• Safety: The top-tier Premium Plus adds an adaptive front-lighting system, front cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, Cruising & Traffic Support with Lane-Change Assist, a driver monitoring system, and the 360-degree View Monitor camera system.
• Starting price: The lineup spans five trims from $29,990 for the 2.5 S to $38,990 for the Premium Plus.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
