Used Jeep Grand Cherokee for Sale nearDayton, OH

How much does the Jeep Grand Cherokee cost in today's market?

Used Jeep Grand Cherokee prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee's current nationwide average price is $22,310, and its lowest point over the past year was $21,490. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the Jeep Grand Cherokee has broad appeal thanks to its mix of comfort, capability, and upscale character. The all-generations owner rating is 4.5/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise its luxurious interiors, strong performance, and off-road capability. They also frequently highlight its spaciousness, comfort, and advanced safety features.

Expert reviews rate the 2015 and 2017 models among the highest across all years.

The main tradeoffs that show up in recent expert reviews are middling fuel economy, value concerns on some trims, and a cabin that can feel less spacious in the back seat. Even so, the Grand Cherokee remains a compelling used SUV if you want a rugged, premium-feeling vehicle with real versatility.

33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Jeep Grand Cherokee models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the Grand Cherokee’s comfort, strong performance, and upscale feel as major strengths. Across the model years in the data, it also earns praise for its spacious cabin, capable character, and broad everyday usefulness.

• Owners rate the Jeep Grand Cherokee between 4.4 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is worth weighing carefully on older examples, especially if you want a vehicle with a clean history and fewer age-related repair surprises.

What should I look for when buying a used Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 75.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: The expected array of driver-assistance features includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Uconnect 5 infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: Jeep expects the new Hurricane four-cylinder engine to return up to 27 mpg combined. That’s a meaningful improvement over the V6 engine’s 22 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway).

Which Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers these trims:

• Laredo: The entry trim uses the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6, a 10.2-inch touchscreen, cloth upholstery, and Jeep’s Quadra-Trac I 4WD system; it suits buyers who want the core Grand Cherokee experience at the lowest entry point.
• Laredo X: This version keeps the V6 and 10.2-inch touchscreen while adding the same core equipment as the Laredo with a slightly different trim presentation.
• Laredo Altitude: This trim adds the Hurricane 4 Turbo engine, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, black 18-inch wheels, the standard Black Appearance Package, and the Selec-Terrain system; it is the best-value trim for shoppers who want the biggest step up in equipment.
• Limited: The Limited adds the larger touchscreen availability, 18-inch wheels, leatherette upholstery, and available 20-inch wheels, giving you a more upscale cabin and broader equipment spread.
• Limited Altitude: This trim adds the larger wheels and blackout treatment while keeping the more premium interior setup.
• Limited Reserve: This version adds genuine leather upholstery and a more premium equipment mix, making it a strong choice if you want a richer cabin.
• Summit: The Summit adds 21-inch wheels, a black roof, genuine leather upholstery, a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, a front-passenger touchscreen, height-adjustable air suspension, and Quadra-Drive II 4WD with a two-speed transfer case; it is the top choice if you want the most luxury and capability in one package.

What Jeep Grand Cherokee do most buyers choose?

The Jeep Grand Cherokee years with the most listings are 2024, 2022, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they offer a strong mix of newer features, broad availability, and pricing that still sits below the newest model years. More listings also give you more room to compare trims, colors, and equipment before you buy.

What is the Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, and several recent years show double-digit declines. That creates a favorable setup for used buyers, especially if you want a newer Grand Cherokee at a lower price than it carried a year ago. The smallest changes are still negative, which means values are easing across the board rather than holding steady.

The 2014, 2023, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Jeep Grand Cherokee safe?

• 2026: 6/10
• 2022: 9/10
• 2021: 4/10
• 2020: 3/10
• 2019: 4/10
• 2017: 7/10
• 2016: 7/10
• 2015: 9/10
• 2014: 8/10

The 2026 Grand Cherokee includes standard adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. For the safest used buy, the 2015 and 2022 models both post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Jeep Grand Cherokee now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −13.28% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −8.44%.
• Deal availability: The 2024 model has 37% good and great deals.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $31,607. The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers a distinctive blend of rugged capability, comfort, and upscale character that has made it a long-running favorite.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The Hurricane 4 Turbo engine delivers 324 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, while Jeep expects up to 27 mpg combined.
• Tech: A larger 12.3-inch touchscreen is now available on Laredo Altitude and higher trim levels, and Uconnect 5 includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
• Safety: Active Drive Assist is available starting on the Laredo Altitude trim, and Jeep says it improved the behavior of this system for 2026.
• Starting price: The Laredo trim starts at $40,410 with the mandatory destination charge.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
