Used Honda Civic for Sale nearLa Vista, NE

How much does the Honda Civic cost in today's market?

Used Honda Civic prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Honda Civic's current nationwide average price is $19,001, and its lowest point over the past year was $17,565. Recently, prices have come down for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the Honda Civic is a strong used-car choice if you want a compact car with broad appeal, solid owner satisfaction, and a long-running reputation for practicality. The all-generations owner rating is 4.5/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the Civic for reliability, fuel economy, and enjoyable driving manners. Comfort, roomy interiors, and useful cargo space also come up often, which helps explain why it works so well for commuters, families, and first-time buyers.

Expert reviews rate the 2015 and 2020 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs in recent expert reviews center on limited power in some versions, noisy road manners at speed, and technology that can feel dated in lower trims. Those are the kinds of compromises you may notice most if you shop the more affordable versions.

Are Honda Civic models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently describe the Civic as dependable, efficient, and easy to live with. Across the lineup, the model’s long-term appeal comes from strong fuel economy, comfortable daily driving, and a reputation for lasting value.

• Owners rate the Honda Civic between 4.5 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is generally manageable, but it still makes sense to focus on maintenance history and a clean vehicle record.

What should I look for when buying a used Honda Civic?

Across all model years, at 64.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2023 models.

Which Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda Civic offers these trims:

• LX: The entry trim uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a CVT and standard 7-inch digital instrumentation and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment; it suits you if you want the most affordable Civic with the core cabin and driving experience.
• Sport: This trim adds 18-inch wheels, shiny exhaust outlet tip, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and an eight-speaker audio system, making it the best-value trim for many shoppers.
• Sport Hybrid: The hybrid setup adds the Two Motor Hybrid powertrain for stronger performance and impressive efficiency, along with the standard Civic tech and a more advanced powertrain choice.
• Sport Touring Hybrid: This trim adds larger 10.2-inch instrumentation and 9-inch infotainment displays, Google built-in, Alexa built-in, wireless smartphone charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system for buyers who want the most tech-rich Civic sedan.

• Type R: The performance hatchback sits at the top of the lineup for buyers focused on the most serious performance character.

What Honda Civic do most buyers choose?

The Honda Civic years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they combine broad availability with strong deal shares, giving you more choices at prices that still feel competitive. When inventory is deep, it is usually easier to compare trims, colors, and equipment levels before you buy.

What is the Honda Civic's resale value?

Most Civic model years are down year over year, which is helpful if you are shopping used and want prices that have eased recently. A few older years are flat to rising, showing that some Civic variants continue to hold value well. Overall, the table points to a market where recent-model pricing has softened more than the oldest examples.

The 2016 and 2024 model years are holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.
