Used Honda Civic for Sale nearDearborn Heights, MI

How much does the Honda Civic cost in today's market?

Used Honda Civic prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Honda Civic's current nationwide average price is $19,055, and its lowest point over the past year was $17,566. Recently, prices have come down for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the Honda Civic is a strong used-car pick if you want a compact car with broad appeal and a long track record of owner satisfaction. The all-generations owner rating is 4.5/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the Civic for reliability, fuel economy, and enjoyable driving manners. They also highlight comfortable interiors, roomy cabins, and useful cargo space, which help the Civic work well for daily commuting and family use.

Expert reviews rate the 2015 and 2020 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs show up in newer expert-tested years: some versions reserve the best features for higher trims, the technology can feel dated in places, and road noise can be noticeable at speed.

30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Honda Civic models reliable?

Owners consistently describe the Civic as dependable, efficient, and easy to live with over the long haul. Expert reviews also reinforce its reputation for strong value, low running costs, and a model lineup that tends to reward regular use.

• Owners rate the Honda Civic between 4.5 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is generally manageable, but a careful history check and maintenance review still matter because some model years have known issues and higher complaint volumes than others.

What should I look for when buying a used Honda Civic?

Across all model years, at 65.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2023 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Honda Sensing collection of advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS)
• Infotainment: 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: 31 mpg in the city, 39 mpg on the highway, and 34 mpg in combined driving

Which Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda Civic offers these trims:

• LX: The entry point with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, CVT, and the standard 7-inch digital instrumentation panel and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system; it suits you if you want the most affordable way into the lineup.
• Sport: Adds a more upscale feel with 18-inch wheels, eight-speaker audio, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a more distinctive look; it stands out as the best-value trim.
• Sport Hybrid: Brings the Two Motor Hybrid powertrain for stronger efficiency and more power, making it a smart pick if you want the Civic’s efficiency-focused side.
• Sport Touring Hybrid: Adds larger 10.2-inch instrumentation and 9-inch infotainment displays, Google built-in, Alexa built-in, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone charging, a 12-speaker Bose setup, and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking; it suits you if you want the most tech-rich Civic sedan.
• Si: Uses a non-hybrid turbocharged gas engine with a manual transmission only, giving you the sportiest sedan character in the lineup.
• Type R: The performance hatchback variant for buyers who want the most extreme Civic experience.

What Honda Civic do most buyers choose?

The Honda Civic years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, color, and price. They also often sit close to the sweet spot between newer features and used-car value.

What is the Honda Civic's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used because prices have generally softened. A few older years are moving slightly higher, but the overall pattern still favors buyers looking for value.

The 2014, 2016, 2024, and 2026 model years are holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2015, 2016, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with prices flat to rising year-over-year.
