Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Highway Driving Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assist, and lane-change assist technologies.
• Infotainment: a 27-inch OLED display that houses the digital instrumentation panel and infotainment touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: According to the EPA, the 3.5T should average 18 mpg in combined driving, which is not impressive. However, on our relatively flat Southern California fuel-economy observation route, which has a 50:50 mix of city and highway driving, the test car averaged 22.8 mpg. Later, when driven with more enthusiasm on our mountainous evaluation loop, the G80 3.5T returned 20.6 mpg, with an 18.7 mpg result for the city portion. That was a pleasant surprise considering the four-cylinder G80 2.5T is rated at 23 mpg combined.

Which Genesis G80 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Genesis G80 offers these trims:

• base: The 2.5T base trim gives you the turbocharged four-cylinder engine and the G80’s core luxury-sedan character at the entry point.
• Advanced: The 2.5T Advanced trim adds more equipment while staying focused on value and everyday comfort.
• Sport Prestige: The 2.5T Sport Prestige and 3.5T Sport Prestige trims bring the most upscale equipment, with the 3.5T version adding the twin-turbo V6, standard head-up display, rear-wheel steering, and adaptive suspension with road preview.
• Prestige Black: The 3.5T Prestige Black trim sits at the top of the range and emphasizes the most premium presentation.

What Genesis G80 do most buyers choose?

The Genesis G80 years with the most listings are 2018, 2025, and 2024.

The highest-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right price, mileage, and condition. They also often sit near the sweet spot between newer features and broader availability.

What is the Genesis G80's resale value?

Most model years in the table are moving lower year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want more room to negotiate. One model year is rising, while several others are only changing slightly, so the pattern is mixed rather than uniform. The biggest drops are the clearest sign that recent used G80s have become more affordable.

The 2021 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2020, 2021, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Should I buy a used Genesis G80 now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −5.78% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −8.73%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 31.1% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 32.1%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2018 model has the most listings at a current average price of $18,272. The Genesis G80 offers a classic luxury look, feel, and driving character that makes it especially appealing if you want comfort and refinement.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The G80 3.5T’s twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 is a satisfying engine. It generates a robust 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque—increases of 75 hp and 80 lb-ft over the G80 2.5T’s 2.5-liter turbo-four. Both engines employ a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission, and the G80 has standard all-wheel drive (AWD).
• Tech: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the G80 supports saved driver profiles, a fingerprint authentication system, and digital key technology that turns a smartphone into the key.
• Safety: The G80 3.5T adds a standard head-up display with a 12-inch image projection. It communicates plenty of information, and also shows when other vehicles are in the car’s blind spots.

If you're buying used today, the 2018 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
