The Envoy started as an offshoot of the 1998 GMC Jimmy and replaced the Jimmy by 2002. Unlike other GMC models, this SUV doesn't come in dozens of trims. The first Envoys packed a 190 hp V6 before an upgrade in '02 to 270 hp and then to its current 291 hp starting in 2006.

Just got it used this summer and it is a great car especially with toledo winters. its is great for towing and for winter driveing. the performance is great. no complaints excepts for gas milege. its very comfortable to drive and is quiet in the highway even when i was towing a uhaul.
Ive taken my 2002 Envoy SLT on numerous trips for long distances. A very good ride and no problems .I really like it. Classy looking and very easy to drive.
GMC Envoys are great vehicles. I owned a 2006 which I bought used and it was a fantastic vehicle. It was caught in a flood and totaled so I found a 2004 and have had it for about 5 years. No issues. They are dependable and ride well. I will buy another if something happens to this one. I would recommend GMC Envoys to anyone.
I love the car in general! I love the fact that is is 4X4 and that it has a sunroof too.
