What should I look for when buying a used GMC Acadia?

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Standard driver assist features include forward-collision warning, a following-distance indicator, automatic emergency braking (both front and rear), automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring (with steering assist) and traffic-sign recognition.
• Infotainment: the 15-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: GMC estimates fuel economy of 23 mpg combined (20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway) with FWD and 21 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway) with AWD.

Which GMC Acadia trim should I buy?

The 2024 GMC Acadia offers these trims:

• Elevation: This is the entry trim, and it comes standard with 18-inch wheels, a 15-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a strong set of driver-assistance features. It’s the best-value choice if you want the newest Acadia’s core space and tech without moving up the lineup.
• AT4: This trim adds off-road-focused hardware and styling, including model-specific 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, red tow hooks, black wheel-arch trim with marker lights, standard all-wheel drive, a twin-clutch system, a 1.2-inch ride height lift, skid plates, and a Terrain drive mode.
• Denali: This trim brings a more upscale look and feel with standard 20-inch wheels, optional 22-inch wheels, leather seats, and the fractal-stitch interior treatment.

What GMC Acadia do most buyers choose?

The GMC Acadia years with the most listings are 2022, 2024, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they combine broad availability with newer features and strong family-friendly utility. They also give you more choices in trim, equipment, and price point, which makes it easier to find a version that fits your budget and needs.

What is the GMC Acadia's resale value?

Most Acadia model years are down year over year, which can work in your favor if you’re shopping used. The biggest drops are concentrated in older and mid-cycle years, while a few newer models are falling more slowly or even moving up. That pattern suggests you can find stronger value in several recent used examples, especially if you’re flexible on model year.

The 2025, 2023, and 2016 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
