Used Dodge Intrepid for Sale near Huntsville, AL
Dodge Intrepid Overview
The Dodge Intrepid had a brief lifespan, noted for the introduction of "cab-forward" design into the car world. One doesn't normally associate Dodge with Lamborghini, but this design was first produced in a Lamborghini model when Chrysler acquired the Italian auto line. Cab-forward carried the wheels out to the front and rear edges of the car, lengthened the wheelbase, and sloped the windshield far over the hood, with the result of extending the interior cabin.
Big enough to qualify as a full-size sedan, the Dodge Intrepid handled nimbly like a smaller car and accelerated like a sports car. The Intrepid was praised for its roomy interior, able to fit five comfortably and six passably. Its lengthened wheelbase helped add to a more comfortable riding experience, and its powerful V6 engines made this car fun to open up, whether on straightaways or curves.
Replaced in 2005 by the Dodge Magnum, many owners were not sad to see it go. Although most drivers loved its spaciousness, interior comfort, and sports-car feel, ongoing transmission and engine problems haunted the Intrepid.

The Dodge Intrepid has garnered a mix of appreciation and criticism from its owners over the years. Many drivers have praised its spacious interior, comfort during long drives, and robust engine performance, which makes it fun to drive. However, a common complaint across various model years is the mechanical reliability, with frequent reports of engine and transmission issues. Owners also noted concerns about gas mileage and some interior quality aspects. While the Intrepid is favored for its size and enjoyable driving experience, potential buyers should be mindful of its reliability history.

What people say
It runs amazing and everything works.
Nice daily driver and good on gas.
Been driving this one since it was brand new, and now have over 130,000 miles on it. Only had one repair needed so far, but it was a biggie. I wish Dodge still made these cars! Everything is so great: tons of room inside, huge trunk, plenty of power, good gas mileage, and it looks so good...
Great blend of comfort, power, fuel economy, and handling. My Intrepid has proven to be quite reliable. The only major work I have had to do (beyond routine maintenance) is replace a leaking camshaft seal around 245,000 miles and replace a head gasket (and all other gaskets involved in the teardown) at 286,000 miles.
I love the gas mileage, ride, responsiveness on turns and curves and dependability in all kinds of weather. The style is top notch and the car has served me well for 15 years. I would recommend it to friends and wish Dodge still made the Intrepid.
