The 1999 Dodge Intrepid is sleek, sporty, speedy, and spacious -- the four primary reasons owners are attracted to the car in the first place. The 1999 Intrepid has great acceleration and road handling. With a base 2.7-liter, 200-hp V6 or the 3.2-liter, 225-hp V6 available in ES trims, drivers find the Intrepid a lot of fun to open up on the road. An 18.4-cubic foot trunk and a large interior that comfortably seats five or six means you can pack up your friends and plenty of gear and set out for a long and comfortable road trip.

For all the praise owners lavish on its powerful engine and roomy cabin, unfortunately the new generation of Intrepids seems to experience a lot of mechanical problems. Some owners complain about the sluggishness of the 2.7 engine. Others wish for a rear seat that folds down for more cargo room.
