Across all model years, at 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
| Model Year | Accident-Free % |
|---|---|

Which Dodge Charger trim should I buy?
The 2026 Dodge Charger offers these trims:
- Charger R/T: The entry powertrain brings 420 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic, making it the starting point for buyers who want Charger performance with standard all-wheel drive.
- Charger Scat Pack: This version adds 550 horsepower, Launch Control, Line Lock, Brembo brakes with six-piston front calipers, and five drive modes, making it the best-value choice for buyers who want the fullest performance experience.
- Charger Scat Pack Plus: This trim adds the larger 16-inch digital display, wireless charging, built-in navigation, Turn Signal Active Blind Spot View, and a 360-degree camera setup for buyers who want more tech and parking help.
What Dodge Charger do most buyers choose?
The Dodge Charger years with the most listings are 2022, 2023, and 2021.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 4,335 | 29.9% |
| 2023 | 3,419 | 30.5% |
| 2021 | 2,891 | 28.4% |
| 2020 | 2,329 | 26.8% |
| 2019 | 1,899 | 25.5% |
| 2018 | 1,532 | 24.8% |
Higher-volume years tend to draw more shoppers because they usually offer a wider mix of prices, trims, and availability. That gives you more chances to find the right combination of equipment and value.
What is the Dodge Charger's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2014 | $10,219 | −8.21% |
| 2021 | $26,366 | −6.51% |
| 2018 | $18,841 | −5.71% |
| 2020 | $23,254 | −4.67% |
| 2019 | $19,808 | −4.58% |
| 2015 | $12,970 | −3.59% |
| 2016 | $15,625 | +0.05% |
| 2017 | $18,336 | +3.25% |
| 2022 | $28,587 | +4.97% |
| 2023 | $34,620 | +14.79% |
The table shows a mixed resale picture, with several older and mid-cycle years moving lower while a few newer years are rising. That means you can still find meaningful value in some used Chargers, but the newest examples are commanding stronger prices. The sharpest gains are concentrated in the latest model years, while the middle of the range is more varied.
The 2016 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.
The 2023, 2022, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with prices flat to rising year-over-year.

Customers say
The Dodge Charger has consistently impressed drivers across its various model years, praised primarily for its powerful performance, spacious and comfortable interior, and overall sporty appeal. Owners admire the exhilarating driving experience offered by its strong engine options, especially the V8 variants. However, common criticisms revolve around safety features and fuel economy, with some wishing for more modern technology and luxury elements inside the car. Overall, the Charger remains a favorite among those who enjoy a blend of performance and comfort, while also facing challenges such as pricing and gear reliability.

Summary
With 2,330 currently listed for sale and an average price of $23,310, 25.9% of 2020 Dodge Charger listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2020 Dodge Charger 4.93 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.5 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2020 Dodge Charger stands out by combining sedan practicality with a distinctly performance-focused personality. It offers four full doors and five-passenger seating, along with a spacious cabin, large rear seats, and a large trunk. That mix makes it unusual among modern sedans: it is meant to be useful for everyday driving, but it still aims to feel exciting rather than merely sensible.
Another part of its appeal is the breadth of its powertrain lineup and the availability of all-wheel drive. The Charger also provides the latest tech and infotainment features, which helps it feel current even as it leans into classic muscle-car styling. Buyers looking for a family sedan with more attitude than most will likely appreciate that balance, though the Charger is not without tradeoffs. Its poor fuel economy and the fact that advanced safety features are not standard may matter to shoppers who prioritize efficiency or a fuller list of driver-assistance equipment.
