The 2022 Dodge Charger stands out as a modern embodiment of the classic American muscle car, blending powerful performance with a spacious sedan design. Its muscular aesthetics and robust engine options, including the formidable Hellcat variant boasting up to 807 horsepower, resonate with enthusiasts who appreciate both speed and heritage. As one of the last gas-powered muscle cars in an evolving automotive landscape, the Charger captures nostalgia while offering practicality for families, making it a unique choice in today’s market.
Other model years to consider
The 2023 and 2021 Dodge Charger models offer solid value due to their high user satisfaction ratings, with both achieving impressive scores of 4.7 and 4.8 out of 5, respectively. Additionally, these years are well-positioned in the market with competitive pricing and a significant percentage of good or great deals available, enhancing their appeal for buyers seeking a blend of performance and affordability. The 2020 model also stands out as a moderately suitable option, providing strong user feedback alongside an attractive price point, making it a viable choice for those looking for value in the used car market.
Model years to approach with caution
When considering the Dodge Charger model years, caution should be exercised with certain years due to several cost and satisfaction factors. For instance, the 2011 and 2012 models have higher average prices but a significant percentage of users reported that they did not perceive their deals as good or great, which may indicate potential overvaluation in the marketplace. Additionally, while some earlier models receive favorable ratings, they may lack modern features or reliability compared to more recent options, impacting customer satisfaction levels and resale value.
These recommendations are based on CarGurus' proprietary market data from December 3, 2025, CarGurus experts' opinions, and generative AI.

What people say
I love my car. Lots of power , nice sounding exhaust, nice features such as heated seats and steering wheel is nice when its cold out. And I got a great deal as its pretty much a brand new car with only 7,000 miles on it. Very happy with my purchase!
Dodge Charger gives comfort, performance and style at a reasonable price. I love it.
Great bang for the buck right now. They took $12k off MSRP. No other vehicle in the market has that bargain under $40k. The V6 has 300hp, so plenty of pickup, tons of interior space and the infotainment/sound system is pretty dang good. Seats are very comfortable for long drives.
I absolutely love this car. Picked up an admittedly high mileage needs a couple minor things 2012 pursuit model for 6800 bucks. Needed a new transmission pan gasket, oil pressure sensor, and new plugs. Love the way it handles. Has plenty of power, is super fun to drive, and it is SHOCKING how many people give you compliments for a car that is literally the lowest trim available with the V8! Not to mention, its great to have a fun, fast, four door vehicle since I have a large family!
The car is everything that I needed and wanted. American Made Muscle.
