4.3 Overall rating
Customers say
The Dodge Avenger has received a mix of praise and criticism throughout its model years. Owners appreciate its comfort, spacious interiors, and reliable performance, especially with the V6 engine offering decent power and good fuel economy. However, some drivers express dissatisfaction with the lack of power in certain models, issues with interior materials, and mixed feelings about acceleration. Overall, the Avenger is seen as a stylish, fun-to-drive option, with strong points in reliability and comfort but weaknesses in performance and durability over time.

The car wasn’t what I expected from the photos shown. Too many minor damages on the car.

Wow! Quiet smooth ride. I live on a gravel road and could barely tell I was driving on it. Handles curves with ease. Easy to handle and very easy on the eyes. Lots of room on the inside and very comfy. Very fun to drive!

Loved it, great comfortable ride that kept me away from the pump most of the time. Defiantly had power for a 4 cylinder. All in all great car and would buy one again. The Car was just simply bad-ass! It felt safe and I was defiantly in control

Overview
The Dodge Avenger was born out of the partnership of Chrysler and Mitsubishi, and was based on the platform of the Mitsubishi Galant, with stylistic nods to the Dodge Viper. It was produced from 1995-2000
The Avenger fills the role nicely of a 2-door sports coupe that is roomy enough to fit four people comfortably, yet sleek and powerful enough to attract the admiration of onlookers and the satisfaction of drivers looking for a sporty ride.
The Avenger comes in two trims, the base and ES models. Originally, the two differed in engine size and transmission type -- the four-cylinder 5-speed base model and the V6 automatic ES. Eventually the V6 became standard on all trims, but was still only available as an automatic.
Its cool look is what attracts a lot of owners initially, but it also earns praise for its roominess and handling. While most drivers say it is a fun ride, their biggest desire is for an even more powerful engine to match the sporty style.
