What Chevrolet Trax do most buyers choose?

The Chevrolet Trax years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.

These higher-volume years tend to draw the most attention because they combine broader inventory with newer features and stronger overall appeal. More listings also give you more room to compare prices, trims, and condition before you buy.

What is the Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

Most Trax model years are down year over year, which is helpful if you’re shopping used and want to stretch your budget. The biggest drops are concentrated in several newer and mid-cycle years, while a few older examples are changing more slowly. That pattern gives you a mix of stronger value opportunities and a few years that have held closer to their prior pricing.

The 2015, 2016, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Chevrolet Trax safe?

• 2026: 4/10
• 2024: 7/10
• 2021: 4/10
• 2017: 8/10

For the safest used buy, the 2017 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Should I buy a used Chevrolet Trax now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −8.61% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −6.12%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 38.9% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 39.1%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $21,402. The Chevrolet Trax offers a compact footprint that makes it easy to live with in city driving and tight parking situations.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The Trax continues with a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, a six-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive (FWD), and it is EPA-rated at 29 mpg combined (28 mpg city, 31 mpg highway).
• Tech: An 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and a four-speaker audio system are standard on the Trax LS base model, while all higher trim levels get an 11-inch touchscreen and an all-digital 8-inch instrument cluster.
• Safety: Standard driver-assist features include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, and a following distance indicator.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
