What should I look for when buying a used Audi Q5?

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2020 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Audi Connect Care is standard and includes remote start, stolen vehicle tracking, and the usual smartphone connectivity for 10 years.
• Infotainment: A 14.5-inch touchscreen and an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster come standard, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported.
• Fuel efficiency: The Q5 boasts EPA-rated fuel economy of 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined.

Which Audi Q5 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Audi Q5 offers these trims:

• Premium: The entry trim starts the lineup with the standard touchscreen setup, digital instrument cluster, quattro all-wheel drive, and a strong base feature set.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim, adding the passenger-side touchscreen, forward cross-traffic alert, braking and evasive steering assist, and lane-keep assist through Adaptive Cruise Assist.
• Prestige: This top trim adds the passenger display, Park Assist Pro, rear emergency braking, and air springs with Offroad mode.

What Audi Q5 do most buyers choose?

The Audi Q5 years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume model years tend to draw more shoppers because they offer a broad mix of newer features, strong availability, and competitive pricing. More listings also give you more room to compare condition, equipment, and deal quality before you buy.

What is the Audi Q5's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, and several of the declines are double-digit drops. That pattern is good news if you’re shopping used, because it creates more room for value on recent and mid-cycle examples. A few newer years are falling less sharply than the rest, which can make them especially attractive if you want a newer Q5 without paying the newest-model premium.

The 2023, 2025, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Audi Q5 safe?

• 2026: 8/10
• 2025: 7/10
• 2023: 7/10
• 2021: 7/10
• 2018: 9/10

The latest Q5 includes standard driver-assistance features such as automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind spot monitors, front and rear parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control.

For the safest used buy, the 2018 model posts the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Audi Q5 now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −7.24% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −16.92%.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Every Q5 gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four with 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, plus a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and it returns 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
