Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: AcuraWatch
- Infotainment: 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto
- Fuel efficiency: While the official EPA fuel economy estimate is 21 mpg combined, we observed 17.9 mpg on our SoCal evaluation loop. Prior to that, over 160 miles of driving, the MDX averaged 19.2 mpg, including a 100-mile round-trip to Pasadena on free-flowing freeways.
Which Acura MDX trim should I buy?
The 2026 Acura MDX offers these trims:
- MDX: The base model gives you the core MDX formula with a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and standard front-wheel drive, making it the entry point for shoppers who want the essentials.
- Technology: This package adds more equipment and can be paired with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, making it a smart value choice if you want a more complete luxury setup without moving to the sportier appearance packages.
- A-Spec: This trim adds blacked-out wheels and exterior trim, subtle styling changes, bolder interior treatments, and standard all-wheel drive for a more distinctive look.
- Advance: This package builds on the MDX with more upscale equipment and can be paired with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, making it a strong pick if comfort and convenience matter most.
- A-Spec Advance: This combines the A-Spec styling upgrades with the Advance equipment, giving you the best-value blend of appearance and features if you want a more premium feel.
- Type S Advance: This is the performance-focused choice, adding a more powerful turbocharged engine and other upgrades for improved performance.
What Acura MDX do most buyers choose?
The Acura MDX years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 3,357 | 34.2% |
| 2024 | 2,942 | 33.6% |
| 2023 | 2,813 | 33.9% |
| 2026 | 2,080 | 34.4% |
| 2022 | 1,536 | 33.9% |
| 2019 | 1,354 | 31.9% |

| 2022 | $33,524 | −9.84% |
| 2024 | $41,201 | −9.55% |
| 2020 | $23,732 | −8.69% |
| 2019 | $21,200 | −8.33% |
| 2023 | $38,172 | −8.27% |

| 2014 | $12,100 | −5.86% |

This car, the Acura MDX is a total surprise to me. The features are sophisticated and just the right amount of technology and swag that makes it an eye catching bang for my bucks. I came out of a Tahoe with great features and good looks that turned heads and attracted inquiries. My MDX is getting so many compliments and attention from my friends, family, and group members because the maintenance record was impressive and it has the look of luxury; it's a stylish vehicle, that boasts reliability second only to Toyota Lexus. I enjoy driving the MDX and the only thing missing is free oil changes.

Why it stands out
The 2022 Acura MDX stands out as an all-new luxury three-row crossover with personality, character, and charm. It arrives with a new platform, a new exterior design, a new interior look, and a more assertive attitude, giving it a fresh identity while still keeping the MDX’s essential nature intact. As the model enters its fourth generation, it is positioned as a more polished and more modern take on Acura’s familiar formula.
What makes the 2022 MDX especially appealing is the way it balances style and driving enjoyment. Its stylish design and great handling give it a more engaging feel than many buyers expect from a three-row luxury crossover, and the available value is another strength. At the same time, it is not without compromise: the third row is cramped, which may matter for shoppers who need maximum passenger space.
