Used Acura MDX for Sale nearElk, CA

How much does the Acura MDX cost in today's market?

Used Acura MDX prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Acura MDX's current nationwide average price is $32,863, and its lowest point over the past year was $28,610. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the Acura MDX is a strong used pick if you want a three-row luxury SUV that blends comfort, practicality, and a polished driving feel. The all-generations owner rating is 4.55/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the MDX for its spacious cabin, smooth ride, and family-friendly usefulness. Across the model years, you also see recurring praise for its comfort, reliability, and safety features, along with a general appreciation for its upscale character and everyday drivability.

Expert reviews rate the 2022 and 2019 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs show up in the third row, fuel economy, and infotainment experience on older versions. Recent expert-tested models also call out a cramped third row and poor fuel economy, while earlier years add complaints about the infotainment system and, in some cases, a less intuitive cabin layout.

36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Acura MDX models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the MDX’s comfort, practicality, and strong overall character. The model also earns repeated praise for its spacious cabin, smooth ride, and family-friendly usefulness, which helps explain why it has stayed popular for so long.

• Owners rate the Acura MDX between 3.5 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership picture looks encouraging overall, especially if you choose a well-kept example with a clean history and service records.

What should I look for when buying a used Acura MDX?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 78.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: AcuraWatch
• Infotainment: 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging
• Fuel efficiency: While the official EPA fuel economy estimate is 21 mpg combined, we observed 17.9 mpg on our SoCal evaluation loop. Prior to that, over 160 miles of driving, the MDX averaged 19.2 mpg, including a 100-mile round-trip to Pasadena on free-flowing freeways.

Which Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2026 Acura MDX offers these trims:

• MDX: The base model gives you the core MDX formula, including the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation display, and standard front-wheel drive, with AWD available on base and Technology Package models.
• Technology: This trim adds to the base setup and can be equipped with AWD, making it a strong value choice if you want a more upscale feature set without jumping to the sportier versions.
• A-Spec: This trim adds blacked-out wheels and exterior trim, subtle styling changes, and bolder interior treatments with leather and artificial suede, plus standard AWD.
• Advance: This trim adds a more premium feel and can be equipped with AWD, making it a good fit if you want a more luxurious daily driver.
• A-Spec Advance: This best-value trim combines the A-Spec styling upgrades with the Advance equipment, plus standard AWD.
• Type S Advance: This trim adds the more powerful turbocharged engine and other performance upgrades, making it the choice for buyers who want the strongest performance in the lineup.

What Acura MDX do most buyers choose?

The Acura MDX years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.

Those higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you the broadest selection of listings and a strong mix of pricing and deal availability. They also sit close enough to the newest redesigns and updates to feel current while still offering more used-market value than brand-new inventory.

What is the Acura MDX's resale value?

Most MDX model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want more value for your money. The steepest drops are concentrated in the newer model years, while the older examples show smaller declines. That pattern suggests recent MDX inventory is softening faster than the older end of the lineup.

The 2016, 2014, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Acura MDX safe?

For the safest used buy, the 2014 and 2016 models both post the highest confirmed score of 10/10.

Should I buy a used Acura MDX now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −10.83% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −9.61%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 38.7% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 38.9%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $47,354. The Acura MDX offers a roomy three-row cabin and a polished, family-friendly character that makes it easy to live with every day.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Most MDX models have a 3.5-liter V6 engine under their hoods. It generates 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, and pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and Acura’s Integrated Dynamics System driving modes, including Snow, Comfort, Normal, and Sport.
• Tech: A 12.3-inch digital instrumentation display pairs with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and it offers wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging.
• Safety: Acura bundles most of the MDX’s driver aids into a package called AcuraWatch, and the more expensive variants offer a surround-view camera system.
• Starting price: Prices range from $53,150 to $77,200, including the $1,350 destination charge.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
