New & Used 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS for Sale nearJohnston, RI

Is the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns an expert rating of 7.67/10. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

That score lines up with a three-row luxury SUV that prioritizes space, refinement, and high-end tech over agility. The GLS is the roomiest vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, with seating for six or seven and up to 94 cubic feet of cargo space, and the 2027 update adds a more modern cabin, updated styling, and revised powertrains. It also keeps the kind of comfort-focused character that makes it feel more like a luxury family hauler than a traditional large SUV.

The trade-offs are that the design can be polarizing and some ergonomics are less than ideal. Even so, the GLS remains a well-executed luxury SUV with broad capability and strong appeal if you want space, presence, and premium features in one package.

Good and great deals account for 35.4% of listings, so you have a meaningful but selective market to shop.

Is the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS is presented as a refined, well-executed luxury SUV with updated powertrains and a modernized cabin, and Mercedes says the powertrains were revised to improve responsiveness and reduce noise, vibration, and harshness. The standard setup also uses an integrated starter/generator electric motor to improve efficiency, which supports the GLS’s polished, everyday-driving character.

Mercedes also includes Pre-Safe, which closes windows and tightens seatbelts to help reduce injury risk in a crash, and Pre-Safe Sound, which plays pink noise through the audio system to help protect hearing. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is a complex, high-end SUV with a lot of technology and hardware to maintain over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury SUV with advanced electronics, multiple powertrain choices, and available suspension upgrades. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and whether the vehicle has the equipment you want, since the GLS can vary a lot by trim and options.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard GLS 450 and GLS 580 are joined by an AMG GLS 63 performance model and an ultra-luxury Maybach GLS 680. Base-model shoppers should pay attention to feature gaps, since massaging front seats are standard on all but the base GLS 450.
• Powertrain: The GLS 450 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 375 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, while the GLS 580 uses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 530 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. All GLS models use an integrated starter/generator electric motor, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and 4Matic all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, traffic-sign recognition, traffic-light recognition, speed-limit tracking, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality and route-based speed adjustment. Optional features include steering assist, lane-change assist, parking assist, and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is a Superscreen with three 12.3-inch displays, including a front-passenger screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are retained, and the system runs Mercedes’ MB.OS-based MBUX software.
• Fuel efficiency: The GLS 450 is expected to return 21 mpg combined, 19 mpg city, and 24 mpg highway. Mercedes did not provide estimates for the V8 models, but prior figures were 16 mpg combined for the GLS 580, 17 mpg combined for the AMG GLS 63, and 15 mpg combined for the Maybach GLS 680.

Which 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS trim should I buy?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS is offered in 4 trim levels: GLS 450 4Matic, GLS 580 4Matic, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 680.

Here's the short version:

• GLS 450 4Matic: This is the value play if you want the GLS experience without jumping into six-figure territory. It brings the updated inline-six, the standard Superscreen, and the core luxury and tech features that define the model.
• GLS 580 4Matic: This is the best fit if you want stronger V8 performance and a more upscale feel without going all the way to AMG or Maybach territory. It adds a more powerful engine and is the right middle ground for buyers who want extra muscle.
• AMG GLS 63: Choose this if you want the performance-focused version. It uses a higher-output V8, a performance-tuned transmission and suspension, a limited-slip differential, and beefier brakes.
• Maybach GLS 680: Pick this if you want the most luxurious and personalized GLS. It sits at the top of the range with the most exclusive positioning and extensive personalization options.

Standard driver-assistance features are generous across the lineup, while steering assist, lane-change assist, parking assist, and a surround-view camera system are optional.

• It adds updated styling, revised powertrains, and a standard three-screen Superscreen cabin.
