New & Used 2026 Subaru WRX for Sale near Connecticut

Is the 2026 Subaru WRX a good car?

The 2026 Subaru WRX is a good fit if you want a performance-oriented sedan that still works as an everyday car. It keeps the formula that made the nameplate popular: a turbocharged Boxer engine, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and a practical four-door body. You also get a six-speed manual transmission, with the optional Subaru Performance Transmission if you want an automatic.

The appeal is broader than just performance hardware. The cabin can be equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and higher trims add features like heated front seats, a larger touchscreen, adaptive headlights, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive dampers on the GT and tS. For 2026, Subaru also made proximity key entry with push-button start standard on every trim.

There are compromises, though. Fuel economy is modest, and the car still carries some of the usual tradeoffs of a performance compact. Even so, if you want all-weather traction and a manual-transmission sport sedan, the WRX remains distinctive. 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a moderate amount of market flexibility.

Is the 2026 Subaru WRX reliable?

The 2026 Subaru WRX is built around a familiar formula: a turbocharged Boxer engine, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and a straightforward sport-sedan layout. That combination suggests a car designed around a clear purpose rather than a complicated mission, and the standard all-wheel-drive setup is a major part of its appeal for year-round use.

The WRX also keeps its enthusiast focus without abandoning everyday features, which can help make ownership feel more manageable if you want one car to do multiple jobs. At the same time, it is still a performance compact, so you should expect the usual tradeoffs that come with that kind of vehicle.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a performance sedan can be more sensitive to hard use and deferred maintenance than a mainstream commuter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Subaru WRX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the car’s maintenance records make sense for a turbocharged performance sedan. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on drivetrain condition, signs of abuse, and any evidence of uneven wear or modifications. Since the WRX is meant to be driven hard by some owners, condition matters more than mileage alone.

Should I buy a 2026 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

The bottom line: The 2026 WRX makes the most sense if you want the latest version of Subaru’s performance sedan formula with standard all-wheel drive and a manual transmission still in the mix. If you are price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a similar ownership experience with more room to shop for the right deal.
