New & Used 2026 Hyundai Venue for Sale nearPortland, OR

Is the 2026 Hyundai Venue a good car?

The 2026 Hyundai Venue earns an expert rating of 5.17/10. The model scores 6/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

It’s a small crossover that gives you more of an SUV-like shape and more practical packaging than the subcompact-car formula it replaces, so it makes sense if you want something easy to park, fuel efficient, and useful for the size. The trade-off is that it’s underpowered, and the cabin leans heavily on plastic with noticeable interior noise.

Buy now if: you want an entry-level crossover that prioritizes space efficiency and low running costs over refinement.

The market is moderately favorable, with 38.9% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Hyundai Venue reliable?

The 2026 Hyundai Venue is positioned as a simple, front-wheel-drive-only small crossover with a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engine and a CVT, which keeps the mechanical formula straightforward. It’s also described as easy to park and fuel efficient, and the powertrain is tuned more for city use than for strong highway passing.

Hyundai’s cost-conscious approach shows up in the cabin and road manners, where the Venue is described as having little sound deadening and a jiggly ride over broken pavement. That doesn’t point to a premium ownership experience, but it does suggest a fairly uncomplicated vehicle built around basic transportation needs.

For used buyers, the long-term risk is less about complexity and more about living with a budget-oriented vehicle that may wear its compromises more noticeably over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Hyundai Venue?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that has seen a lot of city use. Focus on overall condition, cabin wear, and whether the vehicle feels as tight and quiet as you’d expect from a small crossover that already starts from a value-first baseline.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE is very basic, with cloth upholstery, a manually adjustable driver’s seat, a urethane steering wheel and shift knob, and 15-inch alloy wheels. The SEL w/2-Tone Roof adds cloth/synthetic-leather upholstery, heated front seats, wireless phone charging, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, automatic temperature control, and 17-inch wheels. The SEL adds a sunroof but reverts to cloth upholstery.
• Powertrain: You get a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 121 horsepower and 113 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive only. It’s tuned for easy city driving, but highway passing requires planning.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, and a rear-occupant warning. Blind-spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on all but the base SE, and adaptive cruise control isn’t available.
• Infotainment: The Venue uses an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It does not offer navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, or SiriusXM satellite radio.
• Fuel efficiency: The Venue is EPA-rated at 29 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 31 mpg combined.

Which 2026 Hyundai Venue trim should I buy?

The 2026 Hyundai Venue is offered in 3 trim levels: SE, SEL w/2-Tone Roof, and SEL.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the least expensive way into the Venue, but it’s also the most stripped-down. You get the basics, including the 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, roof rails, and manual seat adjustment, but the overall setup is very bare-bones. It makes sense only if your top priority is the lowest possible price.
• SEL w/2-Tone Roof: This is the best-value trim. It adds the features that most improve day-to-day comfort and convenience, including heated front seats, wireless phone charging, automatic temperature control, a proximity key with push-button start, and a more upscale interior treatment.
• SEL: This trim adds a sunroof, but it gives up the cloth/synthetic-leather upholstery found on the SEL w/2-Tone Roof. If you want the open-air feature, it’s the one to get; otherwise, the two-tone roof model is the smarter buy.

All trims share the same basic safety setup, but blind-spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert are not standard on the SE.

Is the 2026 Hyundai Venue safe?

The 2026 Hyundai Venue earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai gives the Venue a solid standard safety suite that includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, and a rear-occupant warning. Blind-spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on all but the base SE, while adaptive cruise control isn’t available.

There is also a caveat in the crash-testing picture: IIHS had not released full ratings at the time of writing, though the Venue did receive a Good score in the small front overlap test. Headlight ratings varied by trim, with Acceptable or Marginal results depending on the version.

Should I buy a 2026 Hyundai Venue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The 2026 Venue is still a practical, easy-to-park small crossover with good space for the size, but it remains underpowered and noisy.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Venue with the current-year market mix and the same value-first formula, the 2026 makes sense. If you’re shopping mainly on price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, especially if you can find a cleaner or cheaper example with the features you want.
