New & Used 2026 Honda Passport for Sale nearWaterloo, IA

How much does the 2026 Honda Passport cost?

Prices have softened 1.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,031 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2026 Honda Passport a good car?

Yes — the 2026 Honda Passport earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

It comes across as a well-rounded two-row SUV with a spacious interior, strong cargo capacity, and user-friendly technology. It also aims at lifestyle-oriented rivals, so you get a more aspirational design and a broader sense of capability than the outgoing model.

The trade-offs are clear: it still lacks key off-road hardware, including a locking differential and low-range 4WD, and it carries a high price tag. That makes it appealing if you want a comfortable, family-friendly crossover with added adventure ability, but less ideal if you want a bargain or serious trail focus.

Good and great deals account for 19.0% of listings, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Honda Passport reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 Passport is described as a redesigned model with a strong emphasis on space, comfort, and everyday usability. Its expert review also points to a robust V6 powertrain and a reputation for being a practical crossover, while the new generation adds more capability and a more modern feel.

The powertrain is presented as durable and straightforward rather than complex, which can be a plus for long-term ownership. Honda also includes a maintenance perk in the ownership experience: the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its higher purchase price and fuel costs can make ownership less forgiving if you rack up a lot of miles.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Honda Passport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that has seen trail use. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, underbody wear, and signs of hard use, since this model is positioned as more capable off-road than before.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RTL is the most straightforward choice if you want the core Passport experience, while TrailSport and TrailSport Elite add more adventurous character and equipment. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting if you care about the extra capability and features highlighted in the higher trims.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and Honda pairs that setup with standard all-wheel drive and seven drive modes. It’s tuned for strong everyday power rather than maximum efficiency, and the fuel-economy trade-off is part of the package.
• Safety package: Honda Safety Sense is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-jam assist, traffic-sign recognition, and low-speed braking control. There are no trim-level safety gaps called out.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, four USB-C ports, and a 10.2-inch digital driver display. TrailSport Elite adds a 12-speaker Bose stereo and the TrailWatch camera system.
• Fuel efficiency: The RTL is rated at 19 mpg city, 25 highway, 21 combined, while TrailSport and TrailSport Elite are rated at 18/23/20.

Which 2026 Honda Passport trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda Passport is offered in 3 trim levels: RTL, TrailSport, and TrailSport Elite.

Here's the short version:

• RTL: This is the value-minded pick if you want the Passport’s core strengths without paying for the more adventure-focused trims. You still get the standard V6, standard AWD, the full safety suite, and the same infotainment setup, so it covers the essentials well.
• TrailSport: This is the best-value trim if you want the Passport’s more rugged personality. It adds the off-road-oriented hardware and character that fit the model’s new direction, making it the trim most aligned with the Passport’s expanded capability.
• TrailSport Elite: Choose this if you want the most upscale and feature-rich Passport. It adds the premium audio system and TrailWatch camera system, so it suits you best if you want the most convenience and visibility tech.

Honda Safety Sense is standard across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Honda Passport?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 19.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,031 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $46,173, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Honda Passport's resale value?

The current average of $47,150 sits slightly below last year's $47,981.

That softer pricing suggests the Passport is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped.

Because the model is still relatively new and well positioned as a roomy, capable two-row SUV, demand should remain tied to its practicality and feature set. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2026 Honda Passport safe?

The 2026 Honda Passport earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Safety Sense is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-jam assist, traffic-sign recognition, and low-speed braking control. Honda also equips every Passport with eight standard airbags.

The main caveat is that crash testing for this generation has not yet been completed, so there is no new IIHS or NHTSA result to lean on for this model year. That means you should treat the safety equipment as strong on paper, while waiting for formal test results to confirm how it performs in a crash.

Should I buy a 2026 Honda Passport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 19.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign makes it feel almost entirely new, with a more aspirational look, more user-friendly tech, and improved off-road capability.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Passport with the most modern design, tech, and capability, the 2026 is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby model year may still make more sense, especially if you can find a well-kept example with the features you want at a lower price.
