New & Used 2026 Honda Passport for Sale nearDes Moines, IA

How much does the 2026 Honda Passport cost?

Prices have softened 1.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,094 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2026 Honda Passport a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating and 7.83/10 expert rating point to a strong overall showing. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

The 2026 Honda Passport is a redesigned two-row SUV that moves into a more rugged, aspirational space, and it stands out for its spacious interior, cargo capacity, and easy-to-use technology. It is also positioned as a more capable off-road choice than before, which broadens its appeal beyond the typical family crossover role.

The trade-offs are clear: it still lacks key off-road hardware such as a locking differential and low-range 4WD, and it carries a high price tag. Poor fuel economy is another drawback, so you should weigh its utility and comfort against those compromises.

With 11.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Honda Passport reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 Honda Passport is described as a well-rounded SUV with broad usefulness, and its standard equipment and practical layout support that reputation. Its naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and the powertrain is presented as a straightforward, durable setup rather than a complicated one.

Honda also includes a wireless phone charger, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and a standard suite of driver-assistance features, which can help reduce everyday wear and tear from stop-and-go driving. If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is that its high purchase price and fuel consumption may make it more expensive to live with than some rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Honda Passport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a TrailSport or TrailSport Elite that may have seen more demanding use. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, underbody wear, and signs of off-road abuse, since this model is marketed with more rugged intent than the typical crossover.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Passport is sold in RTL, TrailSport, and TrailSport Elite trims. The RTL is the most straightforward choice, while the TrailSport models add a more adventurous look and feel, plus equipment that better suits buyers who want the Passport’s tougher personality. The TrailSport Elite is the most upscale version and is the best fit if you want the most features.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission and standard AWD. Honda says the engine is new for this model year, with output rising to 285 hp and torque staying at 262 pound-feet. Fuel economy is a weak point, especially in TrailSport trims.
• Safety package: Every Passport gets Honda Safety Sense, which includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-jam assist, traffic-sign recognition, and low-speed braking control. Eight airbags are standard, too.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. A Wi-Fi hotspot, four USB-C ports, and a 10.2-inch digital driver display are also included on every trim, while the TrailSport Elite adds a 12-speaker Bose stereo and TrailWatch camera system.
• Fuel efficiency: The RTL is EPA-estimated at 19 mpg city, 25 highway, and 21 combined, while TrailSport and TrailSport Elite trims are rated at 18/23/20.

Which 2026 Honda Passport trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda Passport is offered in 3 trim levels: RTL, TrailSport, TrailSport Elite.

Here's the short version:

• RTL: This is the value-minded choice if you want the Passport’s core strengths without paying for the more adventure-focused upgrades. It still gives you standard AWD, the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full Honda Safety Sense suite.
• TrailSport: This is the best-value trim for shoppers who want the Passport’s rugged personality to feel more authentic. It adds the more off-road-oriented setup, including skid plates and improved approach and departure angles, while keeping the same core powertrain and tech.
• TrailSport Elite: Choose this if you want the most upscale Passport experience. It adds the most premium cabin feel, the TrailWatch camera system, and the 12-speaker Bose audio system.

Honda Safety Sense is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim to get the core driver-assistance package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Honda Passport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 11.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,094 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $46,176, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Honda Passport's resale value?

The current average of $47,042 sits slightly below last year's $47,628.

That modest decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, the current pricing trend implies that the Passport is holding value reasonably well, but not appreciating. Its broad usefulness, strong owner satisfaction, and desirable mix of space and capability should continue to support demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2026 Honda Passport safe?

The 2026 Honda Passport earns Honda Safety Sense as standard, with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-jam assist, traffic-sign recognition, and low-speed braking control.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda also includes eight standard airbags. The previous-generation Passport did not earn a Top Safety Pick from IIHS and managed only four out of five stars in the front-impact and rollover tests from NHTSA, so the new model’s safety story still depends on future crash-test results.

Should I buy a 2026 Honda Passport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 11.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2026 model is the redesigned version, with nearly everything new from the exterior and interior to the engine and cargo area.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Passport with the most up-to-date design, tech, and rugged positioning, the 2026 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting into a Passport at a lower price, a nearby older model year may be the better value path, especially if you can live without the redesign.
