New & Used 2026 Honda HR-V for Sale nearColumbus, OH

How much does the 2026 Honda HR-V cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 3,036 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2026 Honda HR-V a good car?

The 2026 Honda HR-V earns a 5.3/10 from our experts, and the model’s appeal centers on simplicity, a comfortable driver’s seat, easy-to-use technology, and great safety ratings.

The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

That said, the HR-V’s underpowered engine and disappointing fuel economy are real trade-offs, and the back seat is another weak point. It fits best if you want a straightforward subcompact SUV with user-friendly controls and a low-stress ownership experience rather than strong acceleration or standout efficiency.

With 38.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2026 Honda HR-V reliable?

The 2026 Honda HR-V is presented as a simple, uncomplicated SUV, and that straightforward character is part of its appeal for used buyers. Its easy-to-use technology and comfortable driving position support the sense that it should be easy to live with day to day.

The powertrain is described as working hard, especially when you need to merge, pass, or climb grades, and the model’s real-world fuel economy is weaker than its official figures suggest. Honda also notes only one complimentary dealership visit, so you should plan on normal out-of-pocket maintenance after that.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the HR-V’s modest performance and efficiency may feel more limiting over time than its simple layout feels reassuring.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Honda HR-V?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment. Focus on overall condition, because the HR-V’s value depends heavily on whether the cabin, tech, and safety equipment have been kept in good shape.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX, Sport, and EX-L differ most in cabin finish and equipment. The LX has cloth seats and the fewest speakers, while the EX-L adds genuine leather, upgraded cabin lighting, and a more upscale interior presentation.
• Powertrain: Every HR-V uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a CVT and optional all-wheel drive. The engine is described as underpowered, and the model’s fuel economy is a weak point.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is limited to the Sport and EX-L, while front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are exclusive to the EX-L.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 9 inches, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included. Every HR-V also gets a wireless smartphone charger, but the base LX has only four speakers.
• Fuel efficiency: The HR-V is rated at 28 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 27 mpg combined with all-wheel drive, though real-world testing returned 24.8 mpg.

Which 2026 Honda HR-V trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda HR-V is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and EX-L.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core HR-V experience with the updated 9-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone charging, and standard Honda Sensing. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but you give up some comfort and convenience features.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and a more distinctive look without jumping all the way to the top trim. If you want a balanced mix of equipment and price, this is the one to focus on.
• EX-L: This is the most upscale version, with leather upholstery, eight speakers, upgraded cabin lighting, and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking. It suits you best if you want the most comfort and the most complete feature set.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard only on the Sport and EX-L, while the EX-L alone gets front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Honda HR-V?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,036 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,372, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Honda HR-V's resale value?

The current average of $28,477 sits slightly below last year's $28,726.

That small decline suggests the HR-V has been holding its value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that usually points to a market that is predictable, but not especially strong for rapid appreciation.

If you buy well and keep the vehicle in clean condition, you should have a reasonable chance of staying close to market value. The key is to avoid overpaying now, since the current trend does not point to a big rebound later.

Is the 2026 Honda HR-V safe?

The 2026 Honda HR-V earns favorable ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the 2025 HR-V also scored a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is reserved for the Sport and EX-L, while front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are exclusive to the EX-L.

One caveat is that the adaptive cruise control did not always react smoothly in testing, so you should pay attention to how the driver-assistance systems behave on your own test drive.

Should I buy a 2026 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• The 2026 update adds a larger touchscreen, faster response times, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging.

The bottom line: choose the 2026 if you want the refreshed tech and a straightforward used SUV with stable pricing. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, especially if you can live without the 2026 infotainment updates.

• Cons: Sluggish performance, Poor fuel economy, Uncomfortable back seat.

2026 Toyota C-HR:

• Cons: Cramped back seat, Not much cargo space, Mid-pack charging tech.

Our experts score the 2026 Honda HR-V 5.3/10 and the 2026 Toyota C-HR 7/10. The HR-V is the easier SUV to live with if you care most about comfort, simple tech, and safety. The C-HR looks stronger if you want a more engaging drive and standard all-wheel drive, but it gives up space and practicality. If you want the more affordable used buy, the HR-V’s lower average price and larger listing pool make it the more accessible option.
