How much does the 2025 Toyota Corolla cost?

Prices have softened 3.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,074 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2025 Toyota Corolla a good car?

The 2025 Toyota Corolla is a solid choice if you want an affordable compact car that balances comfort, technology, and everyday usability. It earns a 3/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

The Corolla’s appeal comes through clearly in its modern infotainment and standard advanced safety features, and it is described as more stylish, technologically advanced, and rewarding to drive than earlier versions. The trade-offs are just as clear: it is noisy, the stereo is lacking, and fuel economy is called poor.

For shoppers who want a straightforward sedan with broad appeal and a practical feature set, that mix can still make sense. The market also shows 34.9% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Toyota Corolla reliable?

The 2025 Toyota Corolla is framed as a dependable, easy-to-own compact car with a deserved reputation for reliability. Its mechanical simplicity and long-running reputation support that image, and the expert review notes that the car should be affordable to own over time.

The performance write-up also points to a drivetrain that is engineered to be efficient in everyday use, even if the CVT can sound coarse under hard acceleration. Toyota’s complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first two years or 25,000 miles adds a useful ownership perk for early miles.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the Corolla’s basic durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn hard by daily commuting.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Corolla?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or signs of heavy commuting use. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake feel, and whether the cabin and controls show the kind of wear that can hint at a tougher life than the odometer suggests.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes the LE, SE, XSE, and FX special edition, and the base LE is the plainest version. The SE is described as the sweet spot, while the FX adds sport-tuned steering, a lowered sport suspension, snazzy wheels, and a spiffy spoiler.
• Powertrain: Gas models use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 169 horsepower and a Dynamic Shift CVT with a launch gearset. The setup is tuned more for smooth everyday response than outright speed, and hard acceleration can bring noticeable drivetrain noise.
• Safety package: Every Corolla gets Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centering assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam headlights, and road sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on all but the highest XSE trim level.
• Infotainment: The available touchscreen grows to 10.5 inches, and the Corolla includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Toyota also offers connected services, including Safety Connect standard on every Corolla.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review says fuel economy is poor, and the evaluation loop returned 32.2 mpg with an observed 27.1 mpg on the test route.

Which 2025 Toyota Corolla trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota Corolla is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, SE, XSE, and FX special edition.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the most basic choice, so it makes sense if you want the lowest entry point and can live without the extra style and equipment found higher up the range.
• SE: This is the best-value trim. It is the sweet spot in the lineup because it gives you a better balance of features and price, and it avoids the plain vanilla look of the base LE.
• XSE: This is the most upscale gas trim mentioned here, and it is the one tied to the available JBL premium sound system and Remote Connect trial. It suits you if you want the most equipment and are willing to pay for it.
• FX special edition: This is the style-and-handling pick. It adds sport-tuned steering, a lowered sport suspension, 18-inch wheels, blacked-out exterior details, and a Moonstone-color interior, so it fits you best if you want a Corolla with more personality.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on all but the highest XSE trim level.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Corolla?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,074 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,151, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $22,033 sits slightly below last year's $22,741.

That softer pricing suggests the Corolla is holding value reasonably well, but not aggressively. If you buy now, you may benefit from the current dip, especially if you find a clean example with strong equipment and a good history.

For a future seller, the current trend means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim. A well-kept Corolla should remain easy to move, but you should not expect a big appreciation story from this model year.

Is the 2025 Toyota Corolla safe?

The 2025 Corolla earns five-star ratings in all crash tests from NHTSA, along with a four-star rollover resistance rating, and the IIHS named it a 2024 Top Safety Pick.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every Corolla and includes forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centering assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam headlights, and road sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on all but the highest XSE trim level.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.11% compared with last year.
• The 2025 model stands out for its modern infotainment and safety technology, plus a driving experience that is more enjoyable than its plain image suggests.

The bottom line: the 2025 is a good pick if you want a well-equipped Corolla with strong safety tech and a softer used-car price than last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also shop carefully for the cleanest, best-equipped example rather than chasing the newest listing.

How does the 2025 Toyota Corolla compare to the 2025 Honda Civic?

Expert Pros & Cons (per CarGurus review team)

2025 Toyota Corolla:

• Pros: Comfortable, Impressive technology, Standard advanced safety features.
• Cons: Poor fuel economy, Noisy, Stereo is lacking.

2025 Honda Civic:

• Pros: Fun to drive, Manual transmission available, Available Google Built-In.
• Cons: All-wheel drive not available, Lane-keeping assist can be irritating, Manual is lacking some user-friendly features.

Our experts score the 2025 Toyota Corolla 7/10 and the 2025 Honda Civic 7.8/10.

The Civic looks like the more engaging choice overall, while the Corolla leans harder into comfort, standard safety, and value. The Corolla also has the lower average used price and a larger pool of listings, which may make it easier for you to shop. If you want the more entertaining drive, the Civic has the edge; if you want a more affordable, safety-forward compact car, the Corolla remains compelling.
