Is the 2025 Subaru Legacy a good car?

The 2025 Subaru Legacy stands out as a midsize sedan built around standard all-wheel drive, a comfortable ride, and lots of standard safety features. It also offers a quieter cabin, a stiffer chassis, better ride quality, a more spacious interior, and the standardization of the EyeSight safety suite and DriverFocus across all trims, which makes it appealing if you want a practical family sedan with extra confidence in poor weather.

Its drawbacks are also clear: the styling is described as dull, the interior can feel cheap, and performance is sluggish. Even so, the Legacy makes sense if you value safety, comfort, and all-weather usability over flash or excitement. 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Subaru Legacy reliable?

The 2025 Subaru Legacy is presented as a well-equipped, safety-focused sedan with a reputation for being comfortable and practical. Its standard all-wheel drive and broad safety content support that image, especially if you want a car that feels confidence-inspiring in poor weather.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright complexity and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by age, mileage, or prior damage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Subaru Legacy?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or neglected maintenance. Pay close attention to overall condition, because the best used examples will be the ones that still feel tight, clean, and well cared for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru Legacy?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 863 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,469, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $27,469 sits slightly below last year's $28,548.

That price movement suggests the Legacy has softened enough to help you buy more confidently today, but it also means future resale may remain somewhat restrained if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the safest path is to buy a clean, well-documented example at a strong price so you have less depreciation to absorb. A lower entry price now can help offset the model’s modest resale trajectory.

Should I buy a 2025 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.78% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the best pick if you want the most polished version of the Legacy’s final-generation formula, especially for standard all-wheel drive, safety content, and a more modern cabin. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year can still make sense, but the 2025 is the cleaner choice when you want the latest version of the car’s strengths.
